Yes, I have already emailed esegrad@seas.upenn.edu about the same. Within how much time can I expect a response?

Hi guest. I can't speak to the individual departments, but we usually do our best to get back to emails within 48-72 hours.

Hi Will, can you please share the admission rate for both MES in chemical and biomolecular eng and MS in biotechnology, thanks
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:42
Hi Azzan. Sure thing! Last year the CBE MSE program had an admissions rate of approximately 36% and the Biotech program had an admissions rate of approximately 45%.

I major in graphic design and minor in computer science in my undegrad. Would you say M:IPD is a suitable program for me to apply to? Are design students admitted to the program on average? Or is it considered a supplemental skill to have?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:43
Hi Noy. Yes, design students are definitely admitted to the program - it's very much a joint program between our Mechanical Engineering program and the Weitzman School of Design.

Hi Will! Just one more question:)
Online MCIT and on-campus MCIT are similar to some extent. Is it ok for my recommenders to send very similar recommendation letters for these two courses? Since they are separate programs, I assume it is fine because my application materials will be read by different people.
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:56
Tang, yes, they are very similar. If you would like to use the same letters for both programs, when submitting the second application, you can select "No," for the question, "will these letters be submitted online," on the recommendation page. You will still need to enter all of the information for your recommenders. Then send an email to admissions2@seas.upenn.edu, requesting that the letters from your first application be added to the second application.

the deadline for the MS in biotech program is on the 15th of March, can my application be reviewed before the deadline if I submit it now!. and can I apply for multiple programs for the same year, thanks
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:57
Hi Azzan, no. Any applications submitted between now and would normally not be reviewed until after the March 15 deadline.

My bad Mr. Fenton, I have a last-minute question:
1.Regarding TOEFL scores. Will "MyBestScores" section of the report be considered? This is in regard that I have gotten a 99 in my second TOEFL examination but if it was considered as superscoring I would have gotten a 101, or should I consider retaking the examination?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:57
That's fine. Yes, we do consider "My Best Scores," as long as all of the scores are valid.
