Have not heard the official retirement announced by Ben. Any way he goes to another team looking for a vet QB to push them further in the playoffs?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:44
I don't think so.

Hi Ray, could the Bills have simply held the Chiefs receivers, taken a couple 5 yard penalties and run the clock down? Seems they had some better options that would've likely secured the win for them then what they tried.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:45
Absolutely, I meant to mention that earlier in the chat when I had those questions. Mug the WRs at the LOS, take the five-yard penalty and there's only one play left. McDermott and his staff botched it. There's no other way around it. Dan Quinn never overcame the Super loss to the Patriots when he was the HC in Atlanta. I see something similar happening in Buffalo.

Hi Ray-  Will AR2 meet with media before decisions are made on DC and OC?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:46
He's meeting with the media on Friday. And no, the DC does not have to be in place by then.

Hi Ray-  anyone notice that Lamar is no longer in conversation of elite QBs in the AFC?   His day in the sun has come and gone IMO. Hope the Ravens give him a huge contract.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't put him in the same class as Mahomes, Allen, Burrows or Herbert. But he's still capable of winning games for the Ravens, even perhaps leading them to the playoffs. They had a ton of injuries last year that contributed to them falling off. More than anything, his style of play concerns me. We saw this year how long it took him to get over a sprained ankle. He's not going to be very effective if he's banged up. I'm surprised it took that long for him to suffer an injury that adversely affected him and the Ravens.

Ray, your opinion, in two years, KG is a starting center, a starting guard, or perhaps running an Applebees?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:50
what about a top interior backup? I don't know. He's a third-round pick. Sometimes you hit on those guys, sometimes you miss. I did find it interesting that Tomlin noted he had position flexibility when they drafted him. That all but told me they're going to try him at guard. I have to say his size very well could be an issue there, too.

ARII wants to have a better running game and control the clock with Harris backed by solid defense. DO you think this is an up to dated formula for success in the NFL?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:51
It's a necessity without a franchise QB.

Will any of us sign a second contract to stay?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:53
Diontae Johnson could. Zach Gentry too.

Enjoyed your article yesterday about who to keep for 2022.

Was the Bills-KC game the greatest game you have EVER seen?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:54
It was very entertaining. But I have to say there was some pretty bad defense being played in the final few minutes. Even just some competent defense at the end of regulation and the Bills win the game.

Do the Steelers have their NT of the future with Adams? He seemed to look pretty good in that spot down the stretch.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:55
I think they like Adams, but I'm not sure he's the NT of the future. If they can draft a dominant nose who will be under contract for four or five years they might want to do it.

Who goes to the Super Bowl?  Hopefully NOT the Bengals!!!

Chiefs-Rams was my preseason pick in the Post-Gazette's preseason publication. Still have a shot!

Ray/. Who from the PG will be meeting with AR2?  Curious if he discusses what was gaiting  issue behind the lack of creativity with offensive play calling.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:57
Gerry. One person per outlet that covers the team on a regular basis.

Why do you mention the cap when they had $8 plus million to spend and didnt!
Ray Fittipaldo
2:58
Because the cap decreased by $18 million or something like that.
It was something real and unforeseen they were forced to deal with.

Can Moore play both sides of the line if there is a big time LT on the Board?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:58
Yes I think he can although he played mostly left tackle in college.

Is it realistic to think that Green can put enough weight on / get strong enough to be successful?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:59
We'll see. He's under contract for three more years.

I didn't mean to suggest the Steelers were going through the motions on the Rooney Rule. It just seemed out of left field that they were interviewing people with other teams with it seemed a foregone conclusion that Austin would be promoted. The Saints DB coach coordinated some good defenses in Seattle. I'm all for some coaches from the outside coming in.
Ray Fittipaldo
3:00
Right. It's part of the process and abiding by the NFL's rules.

What are the chances a stud o- or d-lineman is available when the Steelers pick at #20? Otherwise, do they go lb, wr?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:00
All depends on who they like. Kenyon Green could be there. So could Linderbaum.

Proposal for OT. Put ball on teams own 25. Get two minutes and two time outs. Change possession and do same until winner.
Ray Fittipaldo
3:01
How about in the playoffs you just put 15 minutes on the clock and play it like another quarter. I don't care what they do with overtime in the regular season.

I'm sure the Steelers will give Bush another chance next year due to him not fully recovering from his knee surgery and they have so much invested in him. But do the Steelers draft an ILB early or do they go OL and then DL with their first 2 picks?
