Congratulations to Alan Faneca and Bill Nunn upon their election to the Hall of Fame.  It’s nice seeing Mr. Nunn getting the long overdue recognition for his scouting talents.

You buy the talk that Villanueva isn't washed up, and will command $15 mill per year on the open market?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:27
Who in the world is saying that?
AA
2:27
What are the chances that all the first round grade offensive linemen will be off the board by the Steelers pick?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:28
Last year 5 tackles were taken in the first 18 picks. So I'd say that's a good bet, but as I mentioned earlier this is a deep tackle class. That's the good news for the Steelers. Now it's all about identifying the ones they like the most.

Ray do you believe the short passing game was precaution on Ben's newly repaired elbow along with the lack of run blocking? I believe with a couple linemen and decent running back, Ben will have better success with the play action passing game. Your thoughts?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:29
Mostly lack of a running game. Ben might not have been as accurate down the field, but he could still get it there for the most part.

What OTs might be available for the Steelers in the first?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:30
You see names like Tevin Jenkins of Oklahoma State. There are some others, but I like James Hudson as much as I do Jenkins, who is fine. I just don't know if he has any more upside than Hudson, who you might be able to get in Round 2.

Would you prefer a o-lineman to a RB in the first if both are available?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:31
If they get the O lineman they absolutely want? Yes. I'd pick that guy first. I'm just not sure they're going to be able to achieve that.

A team like Buffalo is a Najee H. away from perhaps being in the SB. I don't think he'll be there at 24 whether of not the Bills jump up. Are the Steelers prepared to move up to get him & prevent that?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:32
Not sure, but the Bills need some offensive linemen to improve that running game. I'm definitely not sold on their line, either.

Ray,  Anything new on Pouncey?  Can Dotson or Feiler play center?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:32
Dotson cannot. Feiler did it early in his career, but I don't think he's practiced there in years.

The play action pass works best with the qb under center.  If Brady at 43 can do it, why can't Ben?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:33
Good question. The Steelers should demand it of their QB.
AK

Who’s more likely to be kept: Haden or Nelson?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:33
Tough call. Nelson is four years younger, but Haden is coming off a better season.

Baltimore has 31 persons  in coaching staff including 8 person in football analytics department. Don't you think the Steelers are way behind time in terms of analytics side?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:34
They have an analytics department, just not an 8-man department.

Ray, I like your M-Draft but I don't believe Long will be there in the 4th... is that where he is graded by others you discuss players with?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:35
He's a third or fourth rounder unless he rockets up boards late in the process. He's a good player. Big production last season as a pass catcher, and he's big enough to handle blocking duties.

Do you think Pouncey or Decastro or both are gone?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:35
My best guess is Pouncey retires and DeCastro is back.

Hi Ray, if the superbowl didn't do anything it showed defenses still win championships!  We have a lot of needs on the team, will any of the draft picks be used on that side of the ball?  SS or LB?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:37
Lots of sneaky defensive needs. They need someone to pair with Devin Bush if they don't believe Spillane can handle the job. They need some CBS given the contract statuses of the guys on the roster now. They'll need a safety in 2022 because I can't see them picking up the fifth-year option on Terrell Edmunds. They could probably use a depth OLB and maybe a starting NT if they don't bring back Alualu. So yeah, the needs are many.

Ray where do you have Mac Jones graded, round wise. My goodness in the Nat. Championship game he showed astounding reading of the D ability & he has something that many QBs don't, 'deadly accuracy,' Oh... & a not strong arm, like... ek hemm...  Joe Montana... just sayin'
Ray Fittipaldo
2:38
I like Jones better than Trask, but I worry about the lack of mobility. You better have a line, a running game and skill players galore like 'Bama to make it work.
Kevin
2:38
Do you really think Ben would actually be committed to running an offense like Tampa Bay did in the SB - strong running game, QB under center using play- action etc ?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:38
He should be. It's his best chance to win.
AK
2:39
Are you concerned about Harris’ age and heavy usage?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:39
Nah. Can't live in your fears.

On my way out I said the standard was slipping.  No one wanted to listen :).   I did make many mistakes and acted foolish but I wasn’t wrong about standard slipping.  When team is no longer hungry for perfection (especially the qb).  You can never win a championship.  My ring size is an 8.  Love you Pittsburgh

If we re-sign Feiler to play RT, do you think Banner or Chucks can handle LT?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:40
They might have to for a year unless the Steelers can find a starter in the draft. And I think Chuks is probably a better fit at LT because he is more athletic.

I think Edmunds is a bust and do not understand what the Steelers saw in him. Edmunds is a decent tackler but has no ball awareness. What do you think?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:41
Did you know the Buccaneers got Jordan Whitehead in the fourth round of the 2018 draft? The same draft they used the No. 28 overall pick on Edmunds? (Well, now you do)
