Maybe Edmunds although Keanu Neal was fine when he was healthy/
Gene
2:17
How many Steeler coaches go to the combine each year?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:17
I think they all pretty much come to watch their position groups.
Carl
2:17
Why is Allen Robinson and Pat Pete still on the team? Easy cap savings?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:18
I agree, and they don't have to make those cuts until the third week of March.
Chris B
2:18
Mike Tomlin previously claimed he was open to expanding his coaching staff with “new” roles (pass/run game coordinators, quality control, etc). Are there any signs of that happening, or will the staff stay small?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:18
I think they're still going through that process.
Ryan
2:19
Good afternoon Ray i think we draft The Iowa Punter To Replace Harvin And anymore Cuts coming soon Like Robinson and anyone else
Ray Fittipaldo
2:19
Those cuts can be made made anytime between now and the first day of the new league year.
Tampa too
2:20
Ray.   do you think Shanahan should have kicked off to start the overtime instead of receiving? It seems like a big advantage, knowing what you have to do if you get the ball second. Your thoughts?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:21
Couple of ways to look at it. If you go down and score a touchdown you put pressure on them. And until the muffed punt the SF defense held up pretty well. That play swung the momentum of the game in KC's favor. So for that reason I don' have a huge problem with him taking the ball first.

I think the only reason to keep P Peterson on the roster is if we move him to safety.  Is that something he would do for a whole season? If not....cut him.  Thoughts on this?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:22
I think Peterson is more of a free safety than strong safety, so not sure how that would go with Minkah Fitzpatrick.

2:22
What is your opinion on Patrick Queen in the FA market? Should the Steelers at least inquire?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:23
I like Roquan Smith more, but Queen might suffice.

Can you see the Steelers bringing in Matt Araiza for a try out? He's been cleared of all charges!!
Ray Fittipaldo
2:24
If they do their own homework on him and there are no issues then sure.
Wexford Guy
2:24
Are you attending the Indi Combine this year?  Really enjoy your Wednesday morning interviews on The Fan.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:25
Yes I'll be there in two weeks and thanks for listening to my spots on the Fan!
The Big Lebowski
2:25
Ray if more cuts are coming, when do you expect them? Larry O hasn't really lived up to his contract.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:25
No, he hasn't but who are you lining up at DT for the opener if Ogunjobi is cut?
KMan
2:26
Do the Steelers take a center early in the draft, or lean on Mason Cole for one more year?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:26
I think ideally they'll get a starter early in this draft, but that's easier said than done. All depends on what happens with the team that pick in front of you.
Hoops McCann
2:27
Ray, feels like we need an injection of youth and speed at ILB.  We were hunted at this position late in season.  Chiefs, Niners, Ravens all excel here as did every great Steelers team ever.  How does the ILB class stack up?  A game changers in round 1?  Big upside potential in rounds 2 and 3?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:27
Not a lot of ILBs in first-round conversation this year. But there are a few guys who could go on Day 2.

Hey Ray.  Thanks for the Chat.   Isn’t interest in Ryan Tannehill just SOS-  Same Old Steelers.  We’re ready to win now.  With some FA signings and the Draft, Steelers will have a solid team.   Is it time to pull the trigger on a Fields, Herbert (if Harbaugh chooses McCarthy, ect)?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:29
I'd trade for Herbert in a second, but Jim Harbaugh isn't dumb enough to part with a talented player like Herbert.
Happy Gilmore
2:30
I am in the camp of giving KP a chance to show what he can do with a legit OC. How many games do you think is reasonable if he doesn't show significant improvement?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:30
I'm thinking 6-8.

Ray, what constitutes Kenny “taking the next step?”  Stats, eye test, wins?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:31
Pushing the ball down the field more, more big plays, reading defenses better, improving his accuracy, not turning his back on oncoming rushers and running into sacks.
The Major
2:31
Hello, Ray. Thoughts on Spencer Rattler if he drops to round 3 or 4?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:33
Round 4 or after is a good time to take a QB. I stood next to him at the Senior Bowl, and he might be 6-1. He's probably more like 6-0. Small QBs can have success, but I'd rather have a bigger guy.

Ray, in your personal opinion, does Pickett take the leap forward or not?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:34
A leap? I don't know.  But he does have to show some progress in those areas addressed above.
SW Steel
2:43
Hey Ray!  Thank you for your chats & fantastic insights.  If the Steelers have a chance to get Robert Spillane back, do you think they would?  That dude was a banger!
Ray Fittipaldo
2:43
I didn't know the Raiders released him. He was a captain for them, right?
Steve in Canton
2:43
What are the chances Patrick Peterson gets released?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:44
Better than 50-50 unless he takes a pay cut to return. That's my analysis. Can't see them taking on a $10 million cap hit for a guy who can no longer play outside. And you don't keep that cap hit for a hybrid safety rotational type player.
Penny Kickett
2:45
How far better are the Niners and Chiefs coaching staffs compared to the Steelers?
