Chances we sign either Evans or Vanderbilt Esch, I know they liked both of them going into the 2018 draft.

Both players had their fifth-year options declined. See, it's not just the Steelers who swing and miss with ILBs. Tough position to scout!

We need offensive line talent. At least 3 new starters or it doesn’t matter who lines up at WR, RB or quarterback.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:53
Not sure it will be that many, but they will draft OL for sure at some point.

Juju a Steelers next year or naw?
Ray Fittipaldo

If I had to guess right now I'd say naw, but never say never.

I just saw that the Steelers hired Pat Meyer as the new O-line coach. I'm glad that they looked outside for the hire, though there are ties with the Steelers coaches. What do you think of the hire? Hopefully they draft some hogs up front for him to work with!

He definitely needs some talent to work with. Interesting background in coaching. Also worked as a strength and conditioning coach in college in addition to coaching offensive lines. Tomlin needs him to work out.

Hi Ray!  I fully enjoy your articles and chats!  Do you think the news on Eric Bienemy may leave the Chiefs is legit and do you think M. Tomlin will try to hire E. Bienemy if he doesn't get a HC position with another team?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:56
Unless it's as an assistant head coach I don't see where he fits in. They are committed to Canada for at least one more year. I wouldn't be opposed to Bienemy being added to the staff, just wondering what kind of role he'd have.

JuJu said the Cowboys' locker room is so much better than that of Steelers. I have never been to NFL locker rooms so can you tell me if the Steelers' locker room is outdated or not?

You should see some of these visiting locker rooms at road venues. Small, cramped, they're not palaces. Not sure if team facilities are markedly different. They might be. But I don't think the Steelers locker room on the South Side is all that bad. Nothing fancy, but hey maybe that's what players want.

Thanks for the chat Ray.  Hope you are well.  Rams win shows championships can be bought.  Do you think this will impact ARII view of FA and they’ll pick up 2 or 3 top tier FAs at positions of need or is it going to be status quo mid level FAs and build through draft.

Rams don't win without Stafford. They have to figure out QB first and foremost. Everything else is secondary until they have a plan at QB.

okay, we have holes on defence at NT, MLB and CB. If you could take one of these guys and bring them back in their prime, who is it: C. Hampton, J. Farrior or I. Taylor?
Ray Fittipaldo

Farrior

What is Ass't HC John Mitchell's role? He doesn't coach any positions, so I am just wondering what he actually does.

When Tomlin announced he was moving into a new role a few years he mentioned how he works with players behind the scenes. Not so much coaching, but getting acclimated to NFL life, etc.

Like many, I have serious concerns regarding the NFL's coaching hiring practices. It seems like many qualified candidates are never considered for positions, due to inappropriate applications of the Rooney Rule, and scam interviews. Can you offer any insight on the hiring process for the OL coaching position? Was someone like Eric Kasperowicz or Munch ever considered, or were they never interviewed due to obligations to honor the Rooney Rule?
Ray Fittipaldo

Eric Kasperowicz? You wanted a former college DB who most recently was a high school coach to coach the offensive line?
After that question I gotta go. See ya next week.
