Of the three you mentioned I think Bush is the most likely player to be there at 20.
Ray
12:49
Is the Harrison, Bell, and Brown train the end, or are there more not happy with Tomlin & Ben?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:50
I guess we'll find out. But I think that's the end of it. Maybe Morgan Burnett would make a scene if he's still on the roster, but I expect him to be cut soon.

Ray, I wanted your thoughts on the strategy imployed by Brown and his agent. Has this changed they way star players will handle contract issues in the future? Clearly, players/agents are watching. Thoughts?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:50
Sure. The NFL has to be worrying their league might turn into the NBA.

Ray, Given the locker room "hostage" situations the last few years (Harrison, Bell, Brown), and how the Raider's GM out smarted us in the Brown trade, if the 2019 season is another 9-7 non-playoff year, will it be time for Tomlin and Colbert to move on?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:51
It might be for Tomlin. Don't get the idea Colbert is on the same "hot seat" if you want to use that term.
Josh
12:51
Would the Steelers be interested in justin Houston or Landon Collins?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:52
Collins is a box safety who has improved in coverage. They need a free safety if Edmunds is going to stay at strong. I'm not sure if they know what they're going to do with Sean Davis, who is entering the final year of his rookie deal. (Davis, by the way, just signed with Drew Rosenhaus)
Dan
12:53
Steelers organization was embarrassed. They should have told brown and Rosenhaus you’re not going anywhere for anything less than a 1 and there will be no new contract. Come and play or sit and don’t get paid. That’s it. This idea that they had to get rid of him is nonsense. There is no rule that the players on a team have to be buddies, just gave to play together.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:53
And what would have happened when Brown threw a temper tantrum at practice on a Thursday afternoon and went AWOL again?
Chad Smith
12:53
Hi Ray, thank you for taking my question. Have you heard of any particular FAs they make go after?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:54
Nothing yet.

12:54
What do you think steelers need to accomplish this season for Tomlin to remain head coach?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:54
Make the playoffs. I hate to boil it down to that, but that very well might be the case.
Dan Bartoli
12:54
Ray, any word on Marcus Gilbert's health?  Do you think he starts for AZ this season?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:55
Marcus Gilbert is a very good player when he's healthy. If he's healthy the Cardinals just bought low on a player that should help them.

AB counts $21M towards this year's cap.  What about next years?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:55
$0
Tom
12:55
With all the free agent safeties on the market, do you think Burnett is praying the Steelers keep him?  Steelers should pull a reverse Antonio. Cut him and offer him a minimal contract.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:55
The Steelers should cut him one minute before the new league year begins.

I think those following this chat deserve to hear from one of your angrier readers.  There are more than a few outraged fans over this debacle.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:56
Haven't I answered some angry questions?

The majority owners as a whole have to step in and remove Art Rooney - he’s in way over his head
Ray Fittipaldo
12:57
They're minority owners. And some influential ones are behind Art II 100 percent.

Hey Ray. Now that Ronald Big Chest has moved on, do you think they will address the position in the draft or free agency with a player like John Brown or Golden Tate? Thanks
Ray Fittipaldo
12:58
John Brown would be nice if they can get him for the right price.

Ray,  I really do not see that the Steelers got fleeced in the AB trade, it was simply time to move on.  Your thoughts please.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:59
Well, it's not fair compensation. I don't think there is any other way to argue this. I'm not saying the Raiders won because we all know this could blow up on them. AB definitely won though.

Ray, could this be the beginning of the end for Tomlin? I mean this looks terrible. The culture of "team Turmoil", along with our owners thriftiness, could hurt our abilities to attract free agents. Do you agree or am I blowing this out of proportion?
Ray Fittipaldo

2019 will be an important season for him, no doubt.

Do you envision the team signing a big(ger) name free agent this year? It is clear the past few years that you get what you pay for (i.e. Jon Bostic, Morgan Burnett)
Ray Fittipaldo
1:01
I think that could happen. They also have some guys in the final years of their deals that they'd like to sign too. They'll have a few targets and we'll see if the price is right.

Ray, when will Ben’s extension be announced?
Ray Fittipaldo

I'm guessing soon.

Will the NFL address players not honoring contracts in the next CBA ?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:02
How about the teams when the don't honor contracts?

One sportswriter wrote Steelers can now trade their first round pick and one of their thirds for a top ten pick to hopefully get the ILB.  Thoughts
Ray Fittipaldo

Not sure you can move up 10 spots with that as capital, but you never know what a team will take.
1:04
Ok that's all the time I have this week. Thanks for all the questions. We'll do it again next week.
