If Pickens and Metcalf stretch the boundaries it feels like Austin & Wilson could find room underneath or crossing?  Freiermuth & Washington too?  Especially against zone there should be some space.  Your thoughts?

A player like Metcalf makes everyone around him better. That's the piece they were missing last season. Doesn't mean they'll be a juggernaut. They need a QB to distribute the ball, but if they keep Pickens this offense is much better on paper.

Hello Ray. Happy Day Two! Do you get the impression that the Steeler Brass has been thrown for a loop? Or do you believe they are calm, cool, and collected right now and was fully prepared or dare I say, they even preferred, that this is the way this all went down. No disrespect to Cam as he has given the organization everything he has. If it’s golf, he’s on the 18th tee. Until they spend the kind of money they did on DK on the D-Line the Steelers are not winning anything and will continue to give up 300 yard rushing games. What say you?

They need to become more stout up front and that means finding a big upgrade over Larry Ogunjobi and maybe bringing in a big run stopping nose to play with Keeanu Benton.

Waiting to find out who the QB is for that. But yes we'll analyze all of the moves in the coming days. Kind of hard to get a true feel for where they are with the QB question remaining unanswered at the moment.

Hi Ray,  I think the Steelers failed to take advantage of an unusually abundant CB market.  Was signing Slay a vote of confidence in Trice?  Do you know if they tried to sign any of the younger CBs?

Yes. They like Trice, but there is no way they could have handed him the starting job knowing he's only played in six games in his first two seasons.

From left to right: Jones, Seumalo, Frazier, McCormick and Fautanu. And the backups have not been determined yet. They did re-sign Ryan McCollum, and he'll complete for a roster spot again.

Hey ray, sorry if you have a lot of questions on this.  but the whole QB situation was confusing to say the least.  I am not surprised Justin went elsewhere as rumors of Steelers going after Stafford and maybe Darnold.  Or do you think they knew already he was looking outside the team to go elsewhere?  This feels like what happened with Pickett all over again.  Except he was under contract.  Is Rodgers (potentially) really going to consider this place when there were plenty of rumors that Wilson didn't have freedom to change plays??

For Rodgers, it's pretty much down to the Steelers or Giants. I'm not saying the Steelers are Super Bowl contenders, but the only thing the Giants are contending for is the No. 1 pick in the 2026 draft.

Why not take a flyer on a guy like Trey Lance instead of overpaying for another has-been? Wilson came cheap. Rodgers won't.

Good morning Ray.  The QB situation has me perplexed.  I am actually OK with brining back Russel Wilson.  I suspect his last 6 games last year may have been different had DK Metcalf been on the team.  With the receiving core we had last year I don't blame all of the offensive woes on him.   That said is the reason he is not being considered because of his personality and his clashes with the coaching staff?   If that is the issue are seriously considering the resolution to being Aaron Roger's?   Help me make sense of this.

I'm not sure "personality clashes" are the main issue. It's more Wilson not playing in the manner some of the coaches wish he would.
