A lot of people think Nick Chubb might be done. I recall another back by the name of Adrian Peterson that put up some numbers after he was fully recovered. Could be a great pick up

Just draft an RB
Chris Palma
12:51
Ray, if we were to get Rodgers or even retain Wilson we still are in the same predicament of not having our long term guy. We keep putting bandages on a huge leak… are we thinking we are going QB for sure 3rd round? You have to have an elite QB to win in this league. We are stuck with Allen, Mahomes and lamar for the next decade good luck….!
Ray Fittipaldo

Franchise QBs are tough to find. Just look t the number of busts of guys who were selected in the top 5 or top 10 of the draft. There are no guarantees you'll get one no matter where you are drafting.

If Rodgers were to become QB, does he have enough leadership ability to potentially straighten out Pickens?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:52
I don't know that anyone does.
Jeff
12:52
If we sign Rogers would you draft a Luther Burden in round 1 if available to put him in the slot with Pickens and Metcalf on the outside and just let Rogers sling it
Ray Fittipaldo
12:53
I still want a DL in Round 1.

Ray, I ask myself why in the world Russell would want to sign with the Steelers and the only answer  I come up with is that nobody else wants him. Is that about it?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:53
Pretty much at this point.

12:53
Can we expect more Steeler FA signings today or will they be slower in coming?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:54
I think they're waiting on Rodgers. That's the last remaining big move. Any other moves will be smaller in scale.

Hello Ray, thanks for taking questions! How do you feel about our OL, including our backups. Do you think they'll address that area in FA or in the Draft?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:55
Maybe on Day 3 of the draft. They could use a backup who can play tackle and guard. They definitely need a swing tackle.

were you surprised how much the Jets paid for Fields? Was this a sign of Steelers being “cheap”?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:55
Or is it a sign of the Jets being dumb?

I keep seeing RBs mocked to the Steelers in Round 1 by national media.  I think that would be a mistake.  Am I wrong?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:55
I'm with you, but they should take one at some point.

Why does it feel like this qb situation has caught them by surprise. This feels like last years WR drama. If Rodgers and Wilson go elsewhere, who is left?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:56
I think one will be available to the Steelers. The question is whether the Steelers can go back to Wilson after the way last season ended.

Seriously, Harrison at $5 mil a year over Roberts? What say you
Ray Fittipaldo
12:57
A luxury signing unless they don't believe Holcomb can play anymore.
O’Donnell
12:57
I trust the Steelers when it comes to letting a QB walk.  Although only Thompson is on the roster, they won’t over pay for what they believe the QB can bring to the team.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:58
This is correct. I know it doesn't make fans feel better, but I share your sentiment.

Hey Ray, can you see the stillers putting up a hayawaska tent at the practice facilities, if they sign Rodgers... him and Artie Smith just gazing at the stars in broad daylight??
Ray Fittipaldo
12:59
I have no idea what that is, but I do know there is no room for expansion on the South Side ha ha
Justin
12:59
Ray - All this cap space and it's a very underwhelming time! Is this intentional or should we have faith in Omar?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:59
Have faith.

Just wanted your thoughts on having Pickens, Metcalf, and Rodgers on the same team and side of the ball?  Seems like a toxic combination.
Ray Fittipaldo
1:01
Or it could work. You never know how chemistry will work within a locker room.
Mark C

While everyone is getting there underwear in a bunch about the QB, I am going to go opposite.  Wouldn't it be best to have a truly awful year and get to draft your QB of the future in Pittsburgh at next years draft?
Ray Fittipaldo

I was waiting for this thought.

Ray , any hidden gems out there at QB , or is the marker picked clean ?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:02
Down to Rodgers or Wilson, isn't it? They can't entertain Jameis Winston. He's not a good fit. Same goes for Kirk Cousins once he is released.
NY Steel

Why would you trade for a $135mm WR without a QB?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:03
Maybe to sway Justin Fields and Aaron Rodgers.

Pretty good chat today. Thanks. Do you think uncertainty of the QB room is impacting Steelers decisions on other positions in free agency (DL, CB), or do the Steelers stay within an allocation of capital to specific positions?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:04
It's the most important position and the QB is going to take up some cap space so yes I would imagine they want this done before they make any other big moves.

Rodgers had 28 TDs and almost 3,900 passing yds in 2024. He got better as the season progressed after returning from the Achilles surgery. He can top those numbers in 2025 with us. Keep him upright , we’ll be ok. It will be fun. Draft your QB in 2026.

He was better late in the season. I think he had 18 TDs and only four INTs over the final 10 games of the season.
