Interesting historical information about the Steelers approach towards signing star players to extensions. Why do you think they do things that way?

That's just the way they've done things. Some teams negotiate with players during the season. The Steelers don't. Some teams sign players in different parts of the calendar. It doesn't mean the Steelers can't or won't change, but historically they have a way of going about their business.

Does the NFL have any intentions of ever switching around divisions? would be fun to have different teams to play, and since they added another game they can rotate rivalry games each year

I would never want that. Division rivalries make the NFL. You might not like playing some teams once only every four years, but even that is changing with the 17th game. Keep it the way it is.
