That's a lot of possibilities! But I think you've got the guys in the right round for the most part though I'm not sure Gordon will be a first-round pick. Pretty good on the rest.

Hi Ray. Thanks for the chat. Lot of wholes to fill on this roster. What positions besides QB do the Steelers look at in rounds 1 & 2?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:19
DL, DB, WR

is the 2022 schedule published?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:21
The schedule has not been released yet. They used to unveil it in April, but last year it was mid-May.

Have the Steelers named a senior offensive assistant to fulfill the new Rooney Rule requirement? Can other teams hire the Steelers position coaches to fulfill the requirement?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:21
The Steelers hired David Corley to be their assistant QBs coach. That was announced today.

Ray I’ve seen tons of mock drafts snd draft simulations and the one thing that stands out to me is how the Steelers seemingly would benefit from trading back in the first snd pick up an extra pick(s) in the second or third.  The talent pool at WR and OT is such that you could possibly wind up with a top notch player at two or three positions of need instead of one one at 20.  Here’s hoping if the opportunity presents itself the Steelers move that way and not try to trade up.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:22
That's a good plan if you can execute it. But you know they might really like the value of a player at 20, too. It'll all be based on their board.

Hello Ray.  How do you feel about WR contracts?  I am leaning toward the not paying WR because we can reload camp, especially how well the steelers reload.  It seems WRs are coming in faster and in bunches.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:23
Will definitely be interesting to see how they approach it this year with Johnson entering the final year of his rookie deal. Then again, they only have two experienced receivers on their roster so they were going to take one high anyway.

With the Steelers hiring a new asst. QB coach, it seems to have added fuel to the rumor/prediction/expectation that the Steelers will draft a QB. I’m putting my money on Desmond Ridder- I expect Pickett and Willins will be drafted by pick 20. I don’t see Steelers going up in draft position for any of the QB’s. Agree?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:23
I wouldn't tie the two together.

Hi Ray. I realize a lot of the chatter on the Internet is often false which is why I want to get your take - how serious do you think the Steelers are in drafting a QB in rounds 1 or 2 if Pickett, Willis, or Ridder are there for the taking?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:24
I think they are serious about it. They wouldn't be investing the time and effort into the QB scouting otherwise. But it will depend on where the value lies when they pick. They won't reach for a QB.

Hello Ray,  are you happy with our outside LBs?  I think we are lacking in depth and need another OLB in the 5th or 6th round.  The Steelers defense has always been heavily reliant on the OLB and therefore justifies the necessary depth.  Thanks!
Ray Fittipaldo
2:25
Yeah I could see them adding one on Day 3. I don't think it'll happen before then.

Hi Ray - will Gunner be strictly a returner of has the potential to contribute as 5th WR like Ray Ray did?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:25
He didn't really contribute much as a WR with the Patriots. So I am guessing he'll be mostly a return specialist.

Hi Ray!  I always appreciate your making time for the chats!  What do you think about Jaquan Brisker S in round #2?  Thanks Much!
Ray Fittipaldo
2:26
Brisker is very good. And, of course, they're in need of safety at the moment. Hometown kid, too.

Hi Ray - on what planet can a professional justifying cutting a player for wanting pizza instead of chicken salad? I would not want to be a part of an organization like that
Ray Fittipaldo
2:27
Methinks there is more to the story.
2:28
By the way, if I was asked if it was a problem if chicken salad was my only meal option I don't know if I would say yes. I might ask if I can get something else, but I'm not saying it's problem.

Daxton Hill Michigan - generally ranked the #2 Safety or Kenyon Green TX AM - generally ranked #1  Guard, or Travis Jones CT - 3rd ranked DT, and then Desmond Ridder.  Who would you pick at 20? I like all 4, gotta lean to 1. Green 2. Ridder 3. Jones 4. Hill
Ray Fittipaldo
2:29
I'd go with Green.

Ray -- a team that is going to depend on defense more than offense is also going to have to depend on a punter -- are the Steelers going to give the job to Harvin or open it up for competition with Waitman (who I thought was very good in the chances he got) or someone else?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:30
Waitman was picked up by another team after the season ended. So it's looking like Harvin again although I am sure they'll bring someone in to compete with him in camp.

Ray,  what would be the most likely reaction from the Steelers fan base if indeed (Charles Davis Mock Draft) Desmond Ridder is the Steelers pick with Kenny Pickett still on the board ?.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:30
Depends on if they're Pitt fans too.

Am I the only who is not on the Willis bandwagon? He’s short, runs too much and is inaccurate in the middle of the field
Ray Fittipaldo
2:31
He's not the perfect prospect, but he probably does have the most potential of any QB in this class. And that's because of his athleticism and ability escape the pocket and extend plays.

When I watch Kevin Rader (reserve tight end) block, it seems like he always plays to the whistle and tends to drive guys back. He seems relentless! Yet Z Gentry’s name keeps coming up in this space. I don’t recall seeing him getting much drive on his blocks. Am I watching the tape correctly? Thanks, Steelbeav
Ray Fittipaldo
2:33
Dang, you really are digging deep on that tape, aren't you? Rader played a grand total of 36 offensive snaps in 2021. I think he's a good potential No. 3 tight end, but that's hardly enough snaps to determine if he's a better blocker than Gentry.

If Steelers have a DL, WR and ILB all relative position in the draft which would they pick? WR is the sexy pick.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:34
Good question. Either WR or DL and I'd lean WR based on their need at the position.

Assuming a dl they would like is no longer available but the following 3 players are who would you pick between Andrew Booth, Jahan Dotson, and Tyler Linderbaum?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:34
I'd probably go with Dotson.

Joe Haden is still out there - any chance he come back?
