I'm not convinced that's going to happen, but I'll say Willis if it does.

Steelers offense under Matt Canada able to finish ranked in top 15 this year?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:20
I think they'd sign for that in blood now, but no, I don't think it comes to fruition.

What prospects should we, as fans, keep an eye on for later round picks from your knowledge of team interest?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:21
You can find good OL and DBs later in the draft or even in undrafted free agency.

Ray: Thanks for the chat. I’m a Purdue grad and WR David Bell is sinking like a rock due to a 4.68 40 time. The kid has unbelievable hands and is fearless across the middle. Do NFL coaching staffs put more emphasis on the speed/workout numbers or does the player’s body of work in college mean more? You and I have both seen workout phenoms that can’t catch a cold in the Arctic. Your thoughts?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:23
I think there is a balance. 4.68 is a little concerning for a WR. But if a guy is crafty and knows how to get open he can still get the job done. So, to answer your question, they pay attention to production, but they always want to know what the testing numbers are too. They have baselines for every position group.

Is Damarri Mathis the most likely Panther to become a Steeler?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:24
Mathis has had a good spring in terms of boosting his draft value. He tested very well at the combine. I could see him going on Day 3.

If the Steelers go WR in Rd1, it seems like mocks want Dotson or Olave to be the pick.  Has anyone watched Treylon Burks film?  He was a beast competing in the toughest conference in college football.  17 Yards per catch.  Jet sweeps.  Big body guy with soft hands, who wins contested catches and literally ran away from the Alabama secondary in a close game.  Did his pedestrian 4.55 40 scare people away?  Antonio Brown was slow at the combine as well.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:25
Yeah I like Burks too. He doesn't look like he plays a 4.55. What you hear about Burks is he made a lot of contested catches, which is good. But when you're always battling for balls sometimes it means you're not getting open.

Can Steelers get by without drafting a center?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:26
Yes.

Of the "never gonna happen" guys that could fall, are there any prospects (Jordan Davis, Kyle Hamilton, etc) that you think the team would forgo picking a QB to get?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:26
The two you mention are good ones.

Picking a QB in the first round seems to me to be a panic move-despite what KC and MT might say.  Do you think they’re desperate in a year of mediocre college QBs?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:27
I think this is depth draft and the difference between picks from the middle of the first round until the middle of the second round all might be graded in the same general area.

Hi Ray-  Good day.  If Michigan safety and both DL from Georgia on board at #20, who do you take and who would the Steelers take?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:27
Jordan Davis.
Carlos Davis
2:27
Considering how much the Steelers are “ailing” at WR, I’m surprised that your mock uses our 2nd pick on Skyy Moore, but doesn’t snag another WR until round 7.  I’d expect a 2 and 4 pick on WR. Love your 3 pick- DL Phidarrian Mathis
Ray Fittipaldo
2:28
Yeah I could see them going with another WR before round 7 but they do have other needs.

Is inside linebacker a possibility in the first round?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:28
Slight possibility.

ONE 2022 Draft Player... ANY Player... to the Steelers... Who ya got?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:29
If I had a team I'd like to get the OL from NC State. I think he has a chance to be great.
Joffrey Ferruzza

Will the Steelers pass on a WR in the 1st Rd because of their apparent ability to find good receivers in the later rounds?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:30
That and the fact this is a good year for WRs.
John
2:30
Is there anyone we should have an eye on in the first round that most experts / mocks aren’t slotting to the Steelers?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:30
Ridder.

If D. Johnson's contract is going to be a concern, why not trade him for a decent 2022 draft pick?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:31
Because he's your WR1
Big Antny

What if Steelers draft a QB then Trubisky blossoms? Then what?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:31
Then you have a great problem to deal with.

Hey Ray do you Really think the Steelers will trade picks to move up for a Qb who going to sit
Ray Fittipaldo
2:32
I don't think that.
Steelmann58
2:32
Ray better odds drafting up or down
Ray Fittipaldo
2:32
Hard to say. I don't think a lot of teams are looking to move up.

Hi Ray - Does Connor Heyward get drafted and if so, is it by the Steelers?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:34
If he's not drafted I think he'll end up with the Steelers as an UDFA.

Just watched some Ekwonu highlights after your answer... wow.... Mean Scoots! I concur.
