A little, but Ebron did have that big 20-yard catch on third-and-6 that set up a touchdown.

Felt like the Steelers used a lot more rub routes than I'm used to seeing from them (Washington TD was one example). That come from Canada?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:51
Not necessarily a Canada influence. The Giants were sitting back in a lot of cover 2. That's a way to beat cover 2 -- run those crossers underneath. You won't get the big play but you can nickel and dime teams to death the way the Steelers did last night.

There were not many flags in week 1, the refs are relaxing perhaps?  Your friend Al Riveron is still there?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:52
Why did you have to go and bring his name up?!

2:53
Ray, don't need to post or answer me... just wanna communicate with you. When I saw our secondary last night... there just isn't a real weak link in my mind. This a good group. Hilton continues to outplay his paycheck. At first glance, this may be my favorite player-by-player team in a while simply due to the combination of talented youth and veteran leadership. I'll gladly take a limping win with these guys over some firework display with Antonio or Bell who will capsize your culture later in the season. It's really looking like Bell completely misjudged his power play and what long-term benefits existed for him in Pitt.

The broadcast as well as some of the morning scribes have described Ben as diminished but still good enough to lead a team with an amazing defence to the super bowl. Do you believe this is the case? As far as I can see the last Ben we saw threw for 5000 yards. I know he is 38 but many others have played at a high level at this age. I think it's more of a wait and see
Ray Fittipaldo
2:54
He played one game. How can anyone make a determination that he is "diminished"? Oh by the way, he threw three TDs with no INTs. I'll take that especially with this defense. He doesn't have to throw for 5,000 yards like he did in 2018. This defense is so much better.

Bud was ineffective before Watt showed.... do you think that has a lot to do with his improvement?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:55
Probably some, but it's hard to quantify. He no doubt has improved his game, too.

I know Tomlin said he's comfortable with Chuks, but are there any thoughts of sliding Feiler back to RT if Wisnewski is not hurt too bad/DeCastro can come back soon?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:55
I can't imagine them doing that after Tomlin came out and said what he said about Chuks today.

I think most people were impressed with the level of play this first week. Do you think that could help cause the league to rethink preseason games?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:56
God, I hope so.
Kirby Hogenmiller
2:56
Do you think the Broncos will be a much tougher team then the Giants even without Von Miller?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:57
A little bit better, but they're coming across the country. The Steelers have the edge on defense and should be able to score enough to win comfortably.

Is McCloud a better receiver than Johnny Holton?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:57
At least they didn't target McCloud yesterday. They had a bad habit of doing that with Holton last year.

If you went off one game, Brady is finished, the Eagles are toast, the Cards are contenders, and the Jags are a playoff team...
Ray Fittipaldo
2:58
Right. Let a month pass before we make any declarations.
AK
2:58
Are you in favor of eliminating preseason games or reducing the number of them?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:58
Absolutely.

2:58
Hi Ray, thanks for the chats. Do you know how frequently the players are tested for Covid?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:58
Multiple times a week.

The fake crowd noise is kind of annoying, will we still get Renegade though?

was it me or did we run the same play with Feiler pulling to the right and each gained considerable yards.  He was a beast.  I thought Banner was having a good game as well.  Heart goes out to him.  I get its the Giants but I thought we looked pretty good...and Jones is the real deal!  only concern is the corners, a lot of separation that we didn't see last year
Ray Fittipaldo

I thought Feiler played well. And yes that counter play was working whenever they wanted from the first quarter on.

Ray, I'm getting ready to buy my Super Bowl tickets.  Should I pack a mask? Thanks!
Ray Fittipaldo
3:01
Yes and some Clorox wipes and gloves and hand sanitizer!

I thought Alualu had a really strong game.  I’m not seeing much acknowledgement of that.
Ray Fittipaldo
3:02
I agree with you. He saw in the backfield an awful lot. Solid game all around.

Hi Ray- I’m always baffled as to why the Steeler defense has so much trouble on 3rd down . Any thoughts as to what you might blame this on?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:03
The other teams have NFL players too. Not every game is going to be a shutout. They caught the Steelers a few times on screens and other big plays, but for the most part I thought it was a really good performance by the D.

What’s your guess as to the starting offensive line assuming that Wisniewski  and DeCastro are still  hurt and Banner definitely out for this week’s upcoming game?  Depth could be a real issue.  Thanks Ray.
Ray Fittipaldo
3:05
That's a lot of assumptions especially with Tomlin saying he's hopeful DeCastro will practice tomorrow. But I'll play along. If all those guys are out it will be RT Okorafor RG Dotson, C Pouncey LG Feiler and LT Villanueva. They always try to get their best five on the field.

McFarland was getting great reviews in camp but no hat on game day?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:05
Just not enough snaps to go around in the backfield I suppose. And other than possibly serving as kickoff returner he doesn't add much special teams value.
AK
3:06
Which? Eliminating or reducing?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:06
I think you'll see reducing first
