Not this week, but I assume that will happen relatively soon.

Would Omar Khan and the younger Dan Rooney be on a short-list of potential Steeler GM candidates - In the event Colbert retires?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:28
Danny Rooney is more likely to take his dad's job when he steps away in a few years. Omar and a few others already in the organization would be considered the GM job.

2:29
Where do you think we land with Rudolph at the helm?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:29
6-10. Could be as good as 8-8 if things fall right. The schedule lightens considerably in the middle portion of the schedule.

Ray,  Your thoughts on Ben vs Mason on physical abilities?  Thank you.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:30
Mason's arm is not as strong. Then again, few QBs in the NFL today have Ben's arm strength. Mobility-wise, they're about the same. Don't expect to see too many more successful scrambles from Mason.

Ray,  Mason likes to throw it down field.  Do you think Randy will pull the reigns in on him?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:32
Tomlin said today the personality of the offense will not change with Mason as the starter. So they'll let him do the same things Ben did. It won't be a dumbed-down version of the offense. Obviously, the play sheet might be a bit smaller, but mason has been around for more than a year and has a good grasp of how Fichtner wants to play.

With all the news regarding Ben’s injury and the Fitzpatrick trade, just wondering if you have any thoughts , stories regarding the late Sam Davis
Ray Fittipaldo
2:33
Very sad to hear of his passing. I never met him, but reading the stories he obviously was well-liked and well-respected among his Super '70s teammates.

6-10? Really?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:34
I suppose you think they'll go 10-6 and make the playoffs? Listen, I'm not totally down on them, but they're 0-2 and Mason Rudolph is going to make his first NFL start on the road this week. Let's be real here.

Thought I read Fitzpatrick wanted out of Miami due to being asked to play all over their secondary - Isn't that exactly what he'll likely be asked to do here as well with his talents?  We like DB who can move all over.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:35
I think it also had to do with the Dolphins deciding to tank the year.

If/when we cut Moncrief how much money are we on the hook for?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:36
He signed for $9 million over two years. I think they'd be responsible for $5 or 6 million if they cut him with a manageable dead cap hit next year.

Is L Jones available
Ray Fittipaldo
2:36
Under contract with the XFL so not eligible to play in the NFL

Ray,  How could the Steeler's FO missed so badly on Montcreif? Living in Jax it was so obvious the guy was average at best and a 4 or 5th receiver.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:37
That's a great question. My opinion: He was a deep threat with the Colts and Jags, and the Steelers tried to make him into something else. Maybe he has been miscast here.

2:38
Are the Steelers also actively looking for a better option at backup TE?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:38
I imagine they're keeping their ears open. Does Miami have a good TE. Maybe they'll trade him.

2:38
In the past were drops a concern for Moncrief?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:39
He certainly wasn't known for his hands. But he wasn't known to drops passes like this either.

D. Bush looks REALLY small out there. Seems to get pushed around more than we thought he would and needs a lot of help bringing down the player. Did we overreach and underestimate how his size would factor in?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:40
He's struggling right now. He doesn't have a full grasp of the defense and that hasn't allowed him to play fast. He's always been able to play bigger than his actual size. Once he learns the defense I think he'll be much better.

Ray, can someone ask Tomlin why his players year in year out are such poor tacklers and so stupid and/or undisciplined which leads to penalties costing the team victories.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:41
That was a bad tackling performance Sunday, that's for sure.
Jud
2:41
At least no one is talking about our special teams these days...
Ray Fittipaldo
2:42
Not true! McCullers heavily criticized for his miscue on the FG attempt. Huge turning point in that game. It's 7-7 instead of 7-2. When you lose by two points plays like that are huge.
Tony
2:43
What are the odds Davis comes back at some point to man the free safety position and Fitzpatrick gets the slot job he wants? How siginficant is davis's injury?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:44
If/when Davis returns I imagine he'd be a reserve and play in the sub-packages.

2:45
With Mason as the new QB, will the coaching staff elevate James Washington to a starting WR role?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:45
Given Moncrief's struggles and the long-standing chemistry with Mason I'd be surprised if that doesn't happen this week.

Is Cam Heyward still great?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:47
The season is only two games old. Give him some time.

Is it possible providing the Steelers have a losing season that wholesale coaching changes are in store for 2020?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:49
Not sure about wholesale changes, but there definitely would be changes with a losing season.

Hi Ray..I would like to advise my fellow Steelers fans that it is way too early to question Bush ‘s abilities.  Troy P. was not great by any means in his rookie season.  I think we need to give our young players a chance to develop before judging them.
