I thought he was very solid. No sacks. Not even a pressure. Not much to complain about.

In all likelihood, Connor is gone after this year, correct?

Who gets the rookie of the first two games award?

Chase Claypool. Who else?

Hi Ray- do you think Davis would be an upgrade over Edmund? Just seem like he's a weak link on the backend.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:36
Not sure about that, but he might be an upgrade over Vince Williams in coverage.

It’s seemed like the offense was be overly conservative at times during the game. What was your observation Ray, and do you think it had anything to do with having two new starters on the right side of the line?

I just think they had too many untimely errors. They were winning, 26-14 when Benny Snell fumbled near midfield. If he holds onto the ball there the Steelers probably win 33-14, and the narrative is completely different this week. Same can be said about some of those missed third-down conversions. Make one or two more and the game wouldn't have been so close.

Thanks Fonz!

I thought the real Tomlin "challenge issue" was the lack of a challenge on that Broncos apparent fumble in the 1st half?  How did the Steelers miss that, has anyone asked them yet? Thx!

I remember seeing the official come in and blow the play dead. He said the ground caused the fumble. Even if replays showed it was a fumble if the officials blows it dead, the play is over. That's on the official. Not Tomlin.

Hi Ray any idea why our TE’s haven’t been targeted as much as we all thought?
Ray Fittipaldo

My guess is Ben doesn't feel quite comfortable with Ebron yet. Maybe their chemistry improves as the season goes on.

Hey Ray, Diontae is electric, a threat constant threat to go all the way on every touch, but do think he can be coached up re drops, etc? And if so, how?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:41
It's just a matter of focus. Sometimes I think he's so anxious to run with the ball that he forgets to secure the catch first. Once he learns how to do that the drops will be eliminated and the big plays will flow.

Thanks Ray - what will it take for Minkah and Devin to get those splash plays? Is it scheme, or they're not making plays in front of them?
Ray Fittipaldo

Sometimes turnovers come in bunches. I don't think Fitzpatrick is playing bad. It could be that QBs are just staying away from him. And Bush will figure it out. The big plays will come.

With or without David back, how do you think the o-line will do against mid - high level defenses?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:45
The Broncos weren't a terrible defense. They protected well in that game. The run game hasn't been consistent. They just have to win their one-on-one battles more consistently. When they do that they'll have more success.

Ray - which one of the three gets the Watt Family game ball this Sunday?

Would be quite the upset if I said Derek, right? Has to be T.J. The Steelers have held JJ in check when they've played the Texans in the past.

OK thanks for taking part in the chat this week. We'll do it again next week before the Titans game.
