Hey Ray, if this continues do you think the Steelers would trade Juju and pending free agents at the deadline to accumulate mid round draft picks?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:45
I don't think you're getting a mid-round pick for a half year of JuJu, who by the way, is averaging something like 6 yards or a catch or something ridiculous like that.

Steelers aren't that bad. I believe they just had a bad day. What say you?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:46
They're 1-3. They are what they are. And yes the offense has been bad.

Hi Ray, thanks for the chat! We're (almost) at the quarter pole ... new thoughts on Over/Under total wins? I agreed with the early thinking that 9-8 or 8-9 may have been realistic but now I may be under 6. What say you?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:47
8-9 still possible if the defenses comes around. If not, it could get ugly.

I am surprised we are not using our tight ends as much in the passing game- what gives?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:47
I'd definitely use Freiermuth more. He's a big target who has good hands.

What is the problem with Ben's accuracy?  Has the surgery changed his ability to be accurate?  Is he out of sync w/ the receivers?  Is it mechanics, caused by an injury (hip)?  Or just father time?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:48
He said after the game he's dropping his elbow. That's fixable, but kind of concerning it's happening at all.

Will D Bush ever figure it out?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:49
They need him to, that's for sure. He has to be more impactful on that defense.

Throwing short of the sticks on third or fourth down is solely a Ben problem. I think Tomlin made clear today that there were other options to throw to beyond the sticks and Ben chose to throw it to the player short of the sticks. That’s more an indictment of Ben than of Canada
Ray Fittipaldo
1:51
Yes but Canada is calling the plays and Ben didn't have the freedom to check out of it. So it can be on both of them. Maybe Ben panicked and decided to go to Najee too soon. Or to JuJu too soon on the other one. But Canada sure as hell could have called better plays. Ben said after the game Najee is the first option on some of those fourth down calls. How about someone running past the sticks being the first option?

Ray, did Feiler leave for bigger money or because the Steelers didn’t want him or both?  Thanks.
Ray Fittipaldo
1:52
Money was the biggest issue, I believe.

Ray, as an ex offensive lineman, any concerns with Green or Moore yet or just growing pains?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:53
Green is just small in stature and has a hard time holding up against bigger guys. He needs to get stronger. Moore has had his ups and downs. They like him so they'll live with the growing pains.

Plural... heck... single? Whom would you deem Tomlin "good hires"?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:54
Munchak for one.

Hi Ray. Would The New Ben win 20 games with the Pirates? He’s got a hell of a sinker.
Ray Fittipaldo
1:54
Charlie Morton like!

Ray, I didn’t see Tomlin’s press conference.  Did he say when Banner might play?  Thanks Ray.
Ray Fittipaldo
1:55
He said he's going to infuse him into practice more to get a better gauge of where he is.

Jim Nantz said it was the first time in his career he’d called a game with no commercials in a quarter. He said it had something to do with it being the NFL “window” game.
Ray Fittipaldo
1:55
There you go... I had never heard of that.

What are the chances they select a QB rd 1 this year?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:56
Depends when they're picking.

On the fourth down pass back to Najee, Freiermuth was coming out of his break wide open beyond the sticks.  Did Ben even have the option to go elsewhere with the ball?  Because he never looked anywhere but right.
Ray Fittipaldo
1:57
I'm sure he had the option, but he did not have the freedom to call a different play at the LOS.
Tommy
1:57
And Munchak bailed.
Ray Fittipaldo
1:58
He left for family reasons. He wanted to be close to his grandchildren in Denver.

Does Tuitt have the clubs permission to stay away, deal with his issues, and pack it in?  All while collecting millions?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:58
Again, I'm not sure where he is. I just know he's not coming around to practice.
1:59
Ok that's it for this week. See you next week.
