He had better. It's created a lot of problems for this offense. He's not only running into sacks, but he's missing some open receivers.

Would the offense improve if Pickett dropped back and threw it to Pickens on each play?
Ray Fittipaldo
10:55
If he's single covered? Yes!

Hello Ray.  Just wondering if you do any podcasts.   You used to do one with Brian, I really enjoyed those.
Ray Fittipaldo

We are part of the North Shore podcast network. I tweet out my appearances when I am on, which is usually on Mondays after games. Brian is typically on Fridays.

Is there a position you think this team could upgrade through trade to help the offense get moving? Center seems like it needs an upgrade, but that would be a big lift in the middle of the season.
Ray Fittipaldo
10:56
Yeah that isn't happening in-season.

Man, what, a mess this team is, Do you think the offense, or the defense, is worse at this point in, the season?
Ray Fittipaldo
10:57
The defense at least can get to the QB and force turnovers. What are the redeeming qualities of the offense, other than some timely big plays?

Brock Purdy is playing in God mode.  Best QB in the league statistically by a mile.  Do the Steelers regret drafting Pickett and Oladukun over him or will they wait for the 30 for 30 to come out before realizing their mistake?
Ray Fittipaldo
10:59
I'm quite sure they regret the Oludokun pick. He couldn't even complete a pass in 7-on-7. Ha ha

Ray...it appears "other teams" study during the games...and make in game adjustments on the fly.  Why do the Steelers need a bye week to try and do the same thing?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:00
Every team self-scouts during the bye week. And every team makes in-game adjustments. I'd say many do it better than the Steelers offensive staff right now.

What is your reaction to OC MC's non-reaction to the game winning TD?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:00
I think he was preparing his menu of two-point plays in his mind. Such a silly topic to discuss if you ask me.

Kenny Pickett seems to play much better late in games in clutch situations. What is preventing him from playing like that throughout the game?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:01
I'm sure the Steelers wish they knew.

Killebrew most under-appreciated Steeler?  your thoughts?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:02
He's a terrific special teams player. He has four career blocked punts in the NFL and more in college, too. He's proven you can make a living in the NFL strictly by playing on special teams.

What would you change at the beginning of games to spark the Steeler's offense? No huddle, screen passes, throwing deep to keep the linebackers out of the box?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:03
Better running game, easier third-down conversions. More creativity in play-calling. Better early-game scripts.

If the Steelers were to cut Gunner, who would return punts if Austin is hurt?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:04
Austin returned in the Ravens game. They didn't want to expose him to hits in the punt return game.
OK thanks for all the great questions this week. We'll do it again next Tuesday.
