Why is our wide receivers coach not on the hot seat? Other than the rookie Pickens, we have regressed at WR.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:45
You know, Ike Hilliard lost his job because the WRs underperformed. Are you starting to think maybe it's not the coaching?
Jeff
2:45
With the current Steelers situation any chance they make a OC change during season or wait till after it's over.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:45
Because he injured it while he was working out.

I know major changes to the roster can't be made during the season but what about giving Boykin more reps?  It's not like the receivers are setting the world on fire.
Ray Fittipaldo

Good special teams player, but I'm not sure he's the answer for what ails this offense.
Jim

Should we play Pickens, Austin and Boykin and give it a try, how could it be worse? Bring back Vaughns!!
Ray Fittipaldo
2:47
And while we're at it, Rico Bussey!

Claypool appears to have all the tools necessary to succeed and his issues seem mostly mental.  Is this a failure of the coaching staff to develop a player more so than a talent issue?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:48
I don't know, but it's obvious he's regressed after his rookie season.
Utah Jim

Bell lost weight after his rookie season and really took off. Harris gained weight and looks worse than his rookie year. Does Najee need to drop a few pounds?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:49
Maybe, but he definitely needs to hit the hole harder.

the training camp reports on austin said every time he touched the ball, good things happen.   and the rookie LB Robinson cant be worse than we are getting.   Let's get the young guys some playing time
Ray Fittipaldo

That time might be coming soon...if the losses continue to pile up.
Jim
2:50
You joke, but the current lineup of WR's other than Pickens is a joke.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:51
I agree with you. Pickens is a keeper and I think Johnson will be a very good No. 2 to Pickens in time. Austin might have some potential, but other than that they can upgrade.

What are the reasons behind the offensive inability to score and why aren’t they discussed? Sorry, can’t just be Matt Canada.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:52
It's not just Canada, but he's a big part of it. The other issues are the receivers, the running back and the offensive line. And maybe the QB, but he's new to the job so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Is there any conceivable reason that we don't at least TRY running Najee with Watt as a lead blocker? Just once?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:52
They've tried that. It doesn't work.

Ray, if the Steelers are picking high enough next year and Will Anderson from Bama is on the board, would you take him even though you have Highsmith and a higher need at IDL? This guy is a difference maker.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:53
When you're in the position the Steelers are in you take the best player available.

Hi Ray. If the Steelers end up with a Top 5 drat pick, they could have some strong offers to move down the draft and acquire several additional 1st round picks. How likely would they be to do that to hasten their rebuild (call it what it is!)?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:55
They could do that. But if there is a great player there in the top five they should take him. That's where you find future Hall of Famers most often. Now, if it's a deeper draft rather than a top-heavy draft then by all means trade down and acquire picks. But you just don't trade down to get more picks if great players are there for the taking.

of expectation that Khan/Weidl fix that ship? Could Tomlin lose some of his power now that things are hitting new depths?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:55
I think that's a possible outcome.

Are Steelers minority share owners talking behind closed doors ?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:56
I'm quite sure they are, but it doesn't mean their voice will be heard. They're called minority owners for a reason. The Rooneys still call the shots.

Ray, should we be concerned about Boswell’s kicking and Harvin’s punting?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:57
Maybe. I hate to point out but the last time Boswell struggled was the same year he signed a new big contract just as he did this summer. And we heard all summer how Harvin would be better. And he was in camp. But he doesn't seem to perform well in games. And games are what matter most.

OK thanks for all the great questions this week. Let's do it again next Tuesday.
