Ray,    The Steeler offense as presented against the Broncos was pretty much what I envisioned this offense to look like.  Can/will Roethlisberger put his ego aside and run this or some variation or will he want to go back to Gunslinger Ben?  You can’t argue with the results of Canada’s game plan.
Ray Fittipaldo
1:24
I don't think it's about Ben's ego, it's about the offensive line being able to do it on a weekly basis.

Hi Ray - any thoughts on why the huge dropoff in turnovers and sacks?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:25
Before the Broncos game they were behind and the opponent controlled the game. The Raiders, Bengals and Packers didn't have to throw all that often. And when they did it was in manageable downs and distances.

It sure looked to me like JuJu was trying to create a highlight reel trucking. Reminded me of that TE a few years ago who tried running over the defender instead of just crossing the goal line. Fumbled the Steelers out of the playoffs. Do the coaches warn players about unnecessary contact like this?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:26
This isn't flag football. It's a physical game. Injuries are going to happen.

If you had one game to win and needed a QB, do you pick Lamar Jackson or Tom Brady?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:27
Is this a serious question? It's Tom Brady, who has six Super Bowl wins. Jackson has never even been to an AFC title game.

Ray, with Banner back, who plays Left Tackle?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:29
Banner isn't back yet. He remains on IR. Moore stays there unless his play slips in which case Okorafor can go back there.

The Steelers dodged a bullet with Russell Wilson's injury. Do we take a 3-3 record into the bye?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:30
I am leaning toward picking the Steelers. That Seahawks defense is bad.

Outside of some injuries, why do you think this Defense almost blew a pretty big lead against Denver?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:30
James Pierre gave up another long TD pass and they weren't able to get off the field on third and fourth downs.

With JuJu out for the season.  I’m hoping Muth becomes our go to guy on 3rd and short because he catches just about everything thrown at him.
Ray Fittipaldo
1:32
Will be interested to see what develops this week in practice, but you're on the right track. Freiermuth has the hands and the route running skills to be effective in that role.

Ray, Pierre seem susceptible to the long ball. Sutton will be back, but when they go to the dime and Pierre plays they are targeting him. Any fix available?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:32
Yeah. Don't get beat deep! He's an NFL corner. He has to do a better job in that regard or he can't be on the field.
Ryan
1:33
good afternoon Ray what did you think about the play of Claypool Sunday he looked pretty good
Ray Fittipaldo
1:34
I thought he stepped up and made some plays. The long catch and run was a big play as was the 18-yard touchdown. He does have to get better on those deep balls when he's in 1-on-1 coverage. One bounced off his helmet early in the game. That could have been another big play.

Ray, can the decline of the defense in the 4th quarter be attributed to the loss of Bush through injury?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:34
I'm sure Bush's exit didn't help matters, but Pierre was in 1-on-1 coverage and got beat. Sometimes it's right in front of our eyes.

What can we do to fix the leaky secondary? Combo of talent and scheme? Too many big plays given up. Do we miss Nelson and Hilton that bad?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:39
I just think they need to get healthy and have all starts in at the same time.

Why was Jon Gruden fired by Mason Rudolph received zero punishment for his comments to Miles Garret? Seems like a huge double standard.
Ray Fittipaldo
1:40
You do know there is no evidence Rudolph said anything to Garrett, right. It was Garrett's word versus Rudolph's word.
TJ

Why isn't Ballage getting much action. I would like to see if he can be the number 2?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:40
He didn't show me much in his limited reps against the Broncos.

So glad we beat Denver, because they shot me in Denver!!!

Ray happened to you and Gerry doing the postgame video?
Ray Fittipaldo

We've done one every week. It's embedded into the stories we write and can be accessed when you click on those stories.

Ray, I'm less worried about Metcalf/Lockett combo with Wilson out but Geno has beat us in the past.  Who do you double team if you have to?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:43
That's a good question. Lockett has been so good for so long. He's consistent while Metcalf obviously is the big play guy in their offense. I'd say make sure Metcalf doesn't hurt you with big plays.
David

The CB they traded a 5th round pick for was inactive again. Is this already an admission another mistake was made evaluating
Ray Fittipaldo
1:44
It's only five games, but it's trending toward being a trade that might be questioned.

When do you think Tuitt will return which I think will help our pass rush?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:44
I think the hope is for the second half of the season, but there are more issues at hand than the knee.
Jarvis Ragdoll Jones
1:44
To what do you attribute the vast improvement in the OL this week? More 3 point stance? Denver just stinks?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:45
Denver stinks? The Broncos went into that game with a top5 defensive ranking across the board. I just think the line is getting some cohesion and the young guys are progressing.
