Harris' future is here for next two years. At least. Let's see what happens when he's healthy, has a good line and has an OC who can scheme things up better than they current guy.

Hi Ray.  Are there any quarterbacks in the NFL  that still call their own plays?  Thanks.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:52
No. But many can change plays at the LOS depending on the looks they get.

Frank Reich would be a great addition to the coaching staff.  Do you think the Steelers would be interested?  Thank you.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:53
They should be. But I think Reich will have more than one suitor once the season ends. He also has to want to return to being an OC rather than a head coach. I read somewhere Irsay owes him $30 million. He has the means to take a year or two off. Or 10.

Two offensive Captains benched.  What does this say? Has this ever happened in Steeler history?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:54
Harris hasn't been benched yet. No change on the depth chart.

Really hoping we don’t go win 4+ games in the second half of the season, Will Anderson or the big D tackle from Georgia sure would look good in black n gold.
Ray Fittipaldo
2:55
Yes they would. Both likely to go in top 5-10.

Hypothetical, if Pickett continues to struggle & Steelers wound up with the #1 Overall Pick, Weidl & Khan can't ignore a can't miss, Franchise QB if available, correct?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:56
But is there a can't-miss QB in this class? I understand it's better than last year, but I haven't heard there is a can't-miss prospect.

Good Afternoon, Ray:  True to form, Chase muffs on yet another jump ball in his Bears debut.  It was a steal to get a high second for him.  What say you, Ray?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:57
I think it was a steal for sure, but on the play you reference he was interfered with...if we're thinking of the same play.

Hi Ray. Do you think Tomlin used the week off to work with Canada on some changes or will we see the same ineffective offense for the second half of the season?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:58
We'll see on Sunday, but I'm sure they tweaked a few things. Will they work? That's another story.

Ray:With Kahn and Weidl in the front office, I feel good about the rebuild of this team. The Claypool deal, looking at the Eagles roster Weidl put together, it just seems like better days are ahead. Now if we can just wean Canada off of MT. That’s the huge problem at the present time.

It will be a fun offseason with the new regime, trying to figure out which types of players they like. And I agree. Andy has a good resume and people around the league speak highly of him.

How good is William Jackson III? Aren't physicals required before you join your new team?
Ray Fittipaldo

They are. Tomlin pooh-poohed the back injury last Wednesday but mentioned it today. Doesn't mean it's serious. Probably just an acknowledgement he'll be on the injury report this week. He practiced with the team last week and on Monday.

Is Joey porter’s kid that good?
Ray Fittipaldo

Some draft analysts believe he's CB1. Most have him in their top 3-5. Doesn't mean he's a top 10 pick, but there does seem to be some momentum for him being drafted in the first couple of rounds.

If you coach long enough, you're going to have bad seasons and bad draft picks.  Cowher had some bad picks, too (Troy Edwards, Jamain Stephens) and 3 losing seasons.  I seem to remember at the end of the 90's Coach Cowher and Tom Donahoe having a difference of opinion on player personnel and talent versus coaching.  By letting Colbert go, promoting Khan, and bringing in Weidl, this might be just what we need to get back to our winning ways.  Your thoughts?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:04
You might be right. Colbert was terrific for a long time. Don't lose sight of that.

Hi Ray - any feedback on Isaiahh Loudermilk? Seemed like he was on pace to get more reps before he was injured.
Ray Fittipaldo
3:04
He hasn't been on the injury report so I am guessing he's just not progressing as much as they hoped. Then again Najee Harris hasn't been on the injury report...

OK thanks for taking part in the chat this week. We'll do it again next Tuesday.
