Huge loss in terms of seeding. Also, less cushion with the Ravens, who will put pressure on them down the stretch.

Steelers had two great routes - exact same one - with JuJu and Washington and Ben overthrew both of them - they were WIDE open.  How about a little dump on Ben for those throws - those "should" be easy throws down the right sideline, no?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:40
I'll give you the JuJu one. But the one to Washington was a good enough pass. He has to run under that ball and stay on his feet. I' can't blame the QB for that play.
Justin
12:40
Too many off games by our 3 olbs. I know corner, and ilb is a must, but I put olb first. What about you
Ray Fittipaldo
12:40
Yeah I didn't notice Watt and Dupree much yesterday. I suppose Watt had an excuse with the wrist injury. But Dupree? Just not consistent enough.
Gus
12:41
Could this team go 7-8-1?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:41
It could, but they'd really have to fall flat on their faces to lose to Cincy and Oakland.

I thought Tomlin wanted Edmunds to play less. Edmunds can't cover at this point in his career and needs less responsibility. Is Burnett not fully healthy?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:42
I think we might see that switch this week. But even so, Edmunds is going back there in the dime package.

12:42
Am I ludicrous to feel ok going forward?  I think we have a great chance to win 4 of 5 and still be the 2 seed when this is all said and done.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:42
I think that's being overly optimistic given the schedule. I think they kissed the 2 seed good bye with that loss Sunday.
Miss Tackles
12:42
Ball security is off the rails.  Ben’s turnovers in the red zone is far from elite level. Xman carries the ball wrong, away from the sideline. Coaching is the common denominator. Agree?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:43
Agree. It's on the coaches to assume controls of the offense after the poor goal line execution the past two weeks.
JoeB
12:43
Sanders made Haden look slow. Think other teams will go after Haden on deep shots?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:43
Yeah I noticed that. Ran right by him twice. I'm sure other teams will try it.
Anthony

I'd much prefer the Steelers to play during Wildcard Weekend. I hate how they come out in their next game after having extended time off.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:44
Well, you'll likely get your wish now after losing that game Sunday.
JoeB
12:44
Chargers are basically locked in at the 5 seed at this point. If Steelers don't get the 2 or 3 seed, they get Chargers round 1. Not good.

Let's see how this game plays out Sunday night first before we go forecasting a January playoff game.

It’s an easy formula. The one thing I keep coming back to with this team is the turnover ratio. We are the worst of any playoff team (if season ended today) at -7. In our games we haven’t won we are -9. It’s a bad combo of our D not forcing any turnovers and our O losing the ball. I’d venture to guess half of the turnovers have come in opps territory too. It’s amazing we have such a good record. Shows our talent. After this L, do you feel we can still beat anyone in AFC on the road? I still think we can as long as we win turnover ratio.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:46
Sure this team can beat any other team on the road, but they have to button up and get on their details. The fact that they haven't buttoned up doesn't exactly encourage me to take them in a playoff upset, but I certainly see why they'd give a team problems. They're really good on offense. They're just not always on their details. That comes back to haunt you just as it did Sunday in Denver.

With Chuks and Matt F strong play this year, do you think Gilbert might be a cap causality next year? Another great job by Mike M and developing players. He’s the best!
Ray Fittipaldo
12:47
The longer this Gilbert injury lingers the more I think that becomes a possibility.

RAY another game over 50 passes what gives Denver run defense not that good gave up big yards to the jets. Fitcher abandoned the run game why
Ray Fittipaldo
12:48
A lot of people have this question today. Me included. It's kind of been a trend with him though.

why no accountability? grimble  should be cut. our guys seem to lose and laugh
Ray Fittipaldo

I said it earlier. He'd be on the street if he played in New England, and maybe a few other cities.
JJ
12:49
Baltimore and Steelers in wild card game?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:49
Could be. And that would be a really tough game.

Yesterday’s loss was huge in my opinion because I don’t think they will beat the Chargers, although I read they’ll be without Melvin Gordon, Saints or New England.  I think they’re in trouble...
Ray Fittipaldo
12:50
I can definitely see your point of view. But if they lose all three of those games then they were never any good to begin with.
Mike Powel
12:50
Ray, what about putting in another left tackle, line up Villanueva at tight end (he's played there before) down around the goal line? Declare him eligible. Obvious mismatch. Thoughts?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:51
I'm for anything other than what they've done the past two weeks!

12:51
Where was Dupree yesterday ?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:51
Certainly not around Keenum

Steelers are a very good team with the exception of turnover ratio.  Certainly ball security is something that can be worked on, and int's reduced by less throwing, but what if anything can be done with regard to create more turnovers?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:52
I asked Keith Butler about that last week. He kind of just said turnovers come in bunches. Didn't really have an answer although he did acknowledge it's a problem.
Hoddy
12:52
No way this team beats saints or Rams in superbowl
Ray Fittipaldo
12:52
You know, they still have to make the playoffs first.

AB clearly seemed to be adversely effected by the altitude... Only guy on the Ox constantly, throughout... Is he OK?
