Do you think the secondary has actually been playing better or do you think the pressure on the opposing QBs has contributed more to the recent success of the defense?

I think they've simplified things. Players are more confident because they're playing more basic coverages and feel like they can play fast. We'll find out how much better because they'll play some really talented QBs in the second half of the season.

Do you think the Ravens will fire John Harbaugh, or do you think they will keep him? Like Pittsburgh, they value stability, but he’s 44-45 since winning the Super Bowl.

I still think the Ravens can rebound from this. The Steelers were 4-5 in 2016 and played in the AFC title game. They have some players hurt now. They have a few things to figure out, but I wouldn't be surprised if they still made the playoffs.

Any chance the Steelers would offer a better contract to Conner in the offseason?  He doesnt strike me as the type to get busted for weed, unlike another certain RB.   If not, what kind of extra cash will he get from the NFL performance benefit?

Al Villanueva made a few extra hundred thousands dollars when he outperformed his contract. I would imagine James will do the same. And I don't think they'll extend him this year. I think they'll do that after the 2019 season.

Nothing against Ramon. He's playing well. But he's 32 going on 33. The Steelers have younger and cheaper options behind him. He was once BJ Finney and Matt Feiler. He knows how this works. I'd be surprised if he's back.

Yeah I thought one or two were ticky-tacky. That was Baltimore's best play. Heave it deep and hope for a flag. Steelers defensive backs can't do it if they're calling it.

Marcus Gilbert has missed a pretty good amount of games this year and last year. Could his time as a Steeler be coming to an end in the near future?

Well, he's signed through 2019. I doubt they cut ties with him after this season unless this knee injury lingers. But he did miss 10 games last year and now three this year. They drafted Chuks Okorafor in the third round. He has to develop, but he could be the guy after the 2019 season.

I doubt the Steelers tag him again. I think they'll take their third-round compensatory pick and move on.

Ray, What's your opinion on offsetting penalties? They don't seem equitable to me.  Holding on the offence vs Personal foul on D should not offset. I feel the PF should be upheld. Your thoughts?

Yeah I had the same thought after that situation from Sunday. Not sure what can be done, but there are times when one penalty is more severe than the other.

I realize the Steelers are a classy organization and always take the high road, but please tell me they would not actually pay Le'Veon Bell the first two weeks if he shows up when they could get a roster exemption for him?

That's something they have to negotiate. The Steelers are fair. If someone is in the building and working I would imagine they would pay him something. I'd be surprised if it was the $855,000, but I do think they would pay him something as long as he comes in decent shape.
