Is Cameron Heyward a good player on DL or just a weekday soundbite?  What does he do?   You never hear is name called during a game.
Ray Fittipaldo

Heyward remains a good player. He's not having another All-Pro season but he's been good. The problem is he's getting older. Don't know how much longer he'll be this type of player.

Mike T really mismanaged the clock when raiders had the ball 1st and goal at end of the game.  He needed to call timeout immediately after raiders first rushing play.  the steelers would have had another 35 seconds left to have ben toss a few passes into the end zone before they trotted boswell out there.

Correct.

If you put a player on IR do you have to provide some sort of injury evidence to the league?
Ray Fittipaldo
1:00
You do, but I don't think the league is really stringent on it.

I read a stat today that road teams that are 10 point favorites, like the Steelers were yesterday have 11 loses since 2007. Tomlin and the Steelers have 4 of those loses. There has to be a reason this happens?

Yes not being buttoned up. Not being on details. Read my story this afternoon on the offensive line. Many of the linemen have lost their technique late in the season. Footwork is bad. They need to get all of that cleaned up.

The NFL never makes sense anymore.  Pats lose to Fins and somehow the Steelers can’t beat Raiders.  In the spirit of not making sense/ I bet the Steelers handle the Pats.  Am I crazy?

Yes.

Patriots will score on every one of their possessions Sunday - agree?
Ray Fittipaldo

Not every one. But maybe 80 percent of them. The Steelers better hope Roethlisberger is ready to sling it.

Regarding Boswell, seems like all his kicks miss to the right.  Do they have an expert working with him to identify what he’s doing wrong?

If they have someone working with Boswell he's not at practices. I don't think he's getting any coaching other than from Danny Smith, the special teams coach.

Ray, Why can’t Matakavich get on the field.. I’ve seen the other options for over a year  = TRY SOMETHING... Thoughts?

He runs a 4.8 40. They have plenty of slow linebackers who can't over.

While in agreement with the fact that The entire team has major issues in all three phases, I would like to point out that the officials blew the Chargers game and the condition of the turf played a roll on the 2 most critical plays of the game yesterday...Hilton slips and Boswell slips(I personally don’t believe that was Boswell’s fault). The two games were a result of outside factors determining the winner.

Good teams overcome bad officiating. Good teams overcome bad field conditions. The Steelers are not a good team. At least not right now.

This intrigues me. How much Steelers cap would have been impacted had they agreed to bell’s demands. $1M, $4M $8M? I do not think it would have been a big deal had bell played for 3 years? Why such miser attitude when u only have few years with Ben. Bell would have been handy to win all three games.  At least against raiders and broncos

That's easy to say now. But if you commit $15 million or more to him and he gets injured again then it's not money well spent. I get that they could have signed him. And I agree he would have helped in the past three weeks. But there are plenty of teams out there with no-name running backs that are winning. Just look around the AFC. Who do the Patriots have at RB? How about the Ravens? How about the Chiefs?
Ok thanks for all the great questions this week. We'll do it again next week after the Patriots game.
