You might be right. Not a lot of people are talking about that, but that's where the depth is in this draft class. Lots of good players 15 through 70.

How far does Bush need to drop before the Steelers give serious consideration to moving up?  I say they won’t move until at least the 15th pick.
Ray Fittipaldo
11:24
Bill Cowher told me you start to think about it when the player you want is 10 picks away. I don't imagine that's changed for Kevin Colbert.

thanks for the chats ray Im seeing and hearing gossip about the steelers possibly takin clellen ferrel as the 1st pick, does this make sense?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:26
Ferrell is really good. He'll be a really good pro. He's a little oversized for a 3-4 OLB so they'd have to determine if he's capable of losing a few pounds and making the transition. But I like him. He's a good pass rusher and a good all-around player.
Jason

We see so much about the Steelers draft needs being ILB, CB, WR.  I would actually argue that their 1st & 2nd round picks should be OLB & S with Dupree and Davis both potentially in last year with the team and no sure replacement on roster.  Assuming it's the right player, what do you think about 1st 2 picks being OLB & S?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:27
I would not be surprised at all if they grabbed a safety with one of their first two picks. And I agree with you on the OLB situation. If Brian Burns is there at 20 I think long and hard about it if the Devins are gone.

I know the Steelers are down a superstar WR, but they always seem to do well drafting that position.  That said, it has usually been the defense that lets the team down.  Isnt a playmaker on defense a much bigger need than any offensive player in at least the first or second round?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:28
Yes it is, but they might only have five or six defenders on their list they really like. If all six are gone then it could get interesting.

Ray,  any chance we can put together a package to move up to the Jet's pick?  They seem to be dangling it out there.
Ray Fittipaldo
11:29
Would cost too much. They have needs other than ILB.
Peter
11:29
Is the possibility of the Steelers trading up for Devin White real?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:29
If he falls past the Bucs at 5 I think it becomes a possibility. Lots of speculation Bruce Arians will grab him at 5 though.
Jon
11:29
If the ILB Devin's are gone, who is on our radar for the pick at #20?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:30
Brian Burns, DK Metcalf, Byron Murphy...
Bill
11:30
MMQB and Peter King both have Rock Ya-Sin mocked to the Steelers this morning.   Seems like another over draft of a CB.  Any idea how much of a chance there is for this?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:31
Would not be a big fan of Ya-Sin at 20. Maybe early second round if you trade back, but not at 20 for me.

Ray, If Steelers move up in 1st rd, it';; only be to take one of the Devins? Say they don't move up and the Devins are gone--miht they draft one of the elite DL passrushers? Thanks
Ray Fittipaldo
11:31
I think the elite pass rushers will be gone by 20 too.

I know it would push @BENZADO over the edge, but if you're looking to replace passing game production doesn't Fant make a lot of sense?  6-4, 4.5 40, smooth, matchup nightmare that could make everyone around him better.  Would they consider him if the defensive players they want are gone at 20?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:33
He'd be in the discussion for sure. As you mention he'd be a matchup nightmare for defensive coordinators. He's not a very good blocker though.

Metcalf, Burns ? I go with Metcalf becos there is no other Wr like him. Can get OLB later like winovich later. What do u think?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:35
I'm sort of with you, but they need some impact players on defense. Burns has potential to be an impact player if he's used right.
Pete
11:35
TE a possibility early in the draft?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:35
I think they'll address TE by round 4 so yes.
Jason
11:36
How do you like terry McClaurin in round 3? Good and productive receiver and active blocker
Ray Fittipaldo
11:36
McLaurin would be an option in third or fourth round. I think he has a chance to be a good pro.
Holly
11:36
Who do you think the steelers take first in the draft?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:36
I think they'll make a play to trade up for Devin Bush.
Kevin
11:37
Any chance the Steelers take the Penn State RB Sanders in this draft?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:37
Have to get him by round 2 if you want him. Can't see him falling out of round 2. Maybe he's there at No. 66 early in the third. I like him. I just don't know if the Steelers want to spend a pick on a RB that high.

11:37
After the Devins is Pratt the next possible ilb in line and do you think he be last until #52?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:38
Maybe in third round. I'd be surprised if Pratt goes in round 2.

If you could give the Steelers anyone in the draft, who would it be?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:38
Devin White.

Reports that DK Metcalf can't run crisp routes, can't cut well. Is that something that can be coached up in the pros?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:39
Yes. He's a freak of an athlete. You can teach WRs how to run better routes.
tony
11:39
how many first round  trades has tomlin made on draft day in his career?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:39
Zero. Only two in franchise history and both were when Cowher was the coach.

Ray, do you think that Bush is worth giving up 3-4 picks to get him? I think that since they have Barron, they can wait till next year to get a great ILB.
