Yes I found that odd. But I guess you can celebrate anything these days. Mike Mitchell used to celebrate tackles 10 yards down the field.

If Bell holds out until the 10th week and then he signs and then the Steelers put him on the 2 week exemption list, does that affect his rights to become a free agent? I wouldn't think so but...
Ray Fittipaldo
12:50
That's why he'd be smart to report after eight weeks...
Greg
12:50
Would you trade Myles Garett for Bell if Cleveland would let us?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:50
Of course.

Where can I get a haircut like James Connor?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:50
Just buy some clippers and give them to your kid and tell him to go to work.

Ray,  Until they prove they can hold a lead in the 4th quarter this defense will make a lot games nail biters.  Why do you think they fell apart late?  I know the turnovers hurt but you have to rise up and someone make a play?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:51
Well, the Browns had first-and-goal from the 1 on one of those. On the other, Josh Gordon made a nice catch. I have a hard time blaming the defense very much for what transpired yesterday. Sorry

Hi Ray, was it a good call by the officials allowing the Cleveland DB an injury TO so late in the game? He seems to be cramping up, but they had no time outs and actually called one. Lots of silence on the national feed - like no one knew what happened.
Ray Fittipaldo

Good point. I was wondering the same thing at the time. So many small details like that get lost in an overtime game like that.

Did you think that the steelers pulled the plug on the offense way too early?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:53
Yes they were too conservative at times.
Mmm Mmm bad
12:53
15-0-1 beats 15-1
Ray Fittipaldo
12:53
Got news for you. This team isn't good enough to go 15-0-1.

It looked to me like Miles Garrett was the only defender who we needed to worry about.   Would it have made sense to maybe double team him a bit?  He does look surprisingly good.

I think the play-calling had to be a bit better to limit the effectiveness of those wide nines.

Ray, I noticed Conners switches the ball to the other side of his body while running through traffic. (watch some of his runs from yeasterday). Isn't a higher chance of fumbling when Rb's do that
Ray Fittipaldo
12:55
No that's good awareness by him. He's preventing players from being able to strip the ball.

Where does yesterday's game rank among the weirdest Steeler games you've ever seen?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:55
Definitely top 5.

Having Vance McDonald back would be really nice. Any chance he returns to practice this week?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:56
Well, they haven't placed him on IR yet. I guess that's somewhat encouraging.

Other than Haden, is team healthy? De Castro ok?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:56
DeCastro said he was OK afterward. We shall see.

Wouldn't you agree the Steelers did not trust Ben and the offense to get closer to the goal line to give Boswell a better chance for his field goal kick.  The closer the better in such bad weather conditions.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:58
I wouldn't blame them if they did get cold feet after the way he played, but I'm still trusting him to make a play or two there for the offense. Again, I'm not leaving it up to the kicker on those conditions. Ever.
12:59
Ok thanks for the questions today. We'll do it again next week.
