Even if I get in to my firm uni choice can I still call uni of Leeds and ask if there are any spaces on my course without having to go through clearing and declining that university first, just incase they don't have any spaces.

]Hi @Imaan, that’s a good question. The short answer is no.  If you have already made an application this year through UCAS but didn’t receive any offers (or none you wanted to accept) or you haven’t met the conditions of an offer you are holding, you will automatically be entered into Clearing. You are not required to repeat an application.

On results day, use your UCAS personal ID to login to your UCAS Track page. You will find your Clearing number on the home page.

You can search our Clearing vacancies (which go live on our website on results day). Always make sure you get in touch with a university before adding them as a Clearing choice in UCAS Track. Once you have a verbal offer that you are happy with, you can then add this to UCAS Track to confirm that you are formally accepting your Clearing offer.

Hi Abbey.  Places in Clearing are generally offered on the basis that they are valid only for entry to university that year. If you were to receive an offer through Clearing, I would suggest you contact the Admissions Team to see if they would accommodate a deferred place. If they are unable to do this, you would need to reapply for the following year.  Please be aware however that there isn’t a guarantee you would be accepted, especially if your grades did not meet the standard entry requirements.

If I didn't receive the grades to meet my offers and had to go through clearing would I still be able to take a gap year

UCAS Track only updates on the day that results are released. UCAS will match your results to exam entry records and to the qualifications you have listed on your application. UCAS then send them on to the university you are holding an offer with. Your status is then updated by the university on Track as soon as possible on results day. Please be aware that some offer statuses may change earlier or later in the day than others. If you receive the grades you need, but your offer hasn’t yet changed to unconditional, don’t worry. You can call the University admission teams – but chances are your offer is in the process of being updated.  Hope that helps.

Hi @Sarafina O, I am assuming you mean reapplying for 2021. If so, yes you would need to repeat the process and submit again through UCAS.
Hope this helps!
Thanks

How would reapplication work, particularly for subjects like medicine? Would the whole process have to be repeated?
