Hi Hafiza, for courses such as these admissions decisions aren't just based on one part of the entry requirements, they're all looked at holistically (GCSE grades, A levels, UCAT and personal statement). If you're attending the healthcare event next week this should help with any questions you may have :)

Ok that's fantastic, thank you. Will there be an event for Diagnostic Radiography or do we not know yet?
AvatarMeghan Clamp

we won't be able to confirm the Easter programme until mid March, but we can certainly request one!
Laiba

im just wondering because , if I get the required grades in a levels , do plenty of work experience and a score a high ucat, and then I get rejected because someone else got all 9s at gcse

The admissions team for medicine take everything into account when looking at an application for the medicine undergraduate course so good GCSE grades, work experience and A levels as well as a UCAT score are all considered

are people in this programme any more likely than other students to get into uni of leeds
AvatarMeghan Clamp
4:17
no offers are guaranteed I'm afraid, but students on rfe are much better prepared for submitting applications through our support and have built a rapport with the university and the staff that other students not on the programme haven't been able to do. certain courses now also have special consideration for progressing rfe students to interview, but again nothing is guaranteed.

thank you!!!do i email the RfE team in order to request an event orr?

when do we need to take the UCAT
AvatarJennifer Mchale
4:20
This is from the undergraduate entry requirements on the medicine course page from our website Eshaal, All applicants for the MBChB course will be required to take UCAT for 2024 entry onwards. This test must be taken in the year of application. We do not accept other aptitude tests instead, e.g. BMAT or GAMSAT.
UCAT is a computer-based admissions test used by a consortium of UK and international universities to help select applicants for their medical and dental degree programmes. We strongly recommend you prepare for the test. There are many materials to help you, including on the UCAT website. https://www.ucat.ac.uk/

so this year before October? that's when we apply right? Would you say summer is a good time to take it
AvatarJennifer Mchale

I would advise you to check the UCAT website to see when tests are available to take but it should be taken around the same time as you submit your UCAS application.

Can RFE give a reduced offer for Leeds>
AvatarJames Leslie
4:32
It certainly can :)
Adrian
4:32
How much can offers be reduced?
AvatarJames Leslie
4:33
Up to two grades lower than our standard offer. For example if the standard entry requirement for your course is AAA at A-level, the offer would be ABB.

Does completing the RfE programme provide us with an automatic spot to access to Leeds ? Apologies if this question has been asked before
AvatarMeghan Clamp
4:37
yes it does :) you get automatically transferred onto A2L in year 13, whereas other students who haven't done RfE have to apply
Helen
4:39
would you say it’s quite hard to gain a spot if you haven’t done for example reach for excellence and you’re applying that year ?
