Can you still get the university experience if you do a degree apprenticeship?
AvatarMolly
4:33
Yeah absolutely! It's a little different in that you won't be in lectures all the time and will do lots of practical work in the company that is sponsoring your apprenticeship, but you'll still have uni work to do and will be able to get involved in as much or as little of the extracurricular uni side as you'd like.

Hi, what are the best questions to ask on a university open day to find out if a course and/or university is right for you?
AvatarMeghan Clamp
4:34
Hi Ellie, I would ask if the course includes work placement opportunities, what the style of learning is, module information and research in your own time student satisfaction and employability ratings :)
4:36
In terms of the University I would ask if the institution has any awards, links with industry and have a good look around all of the central services like student unions, sports faculties and accommodation :)

Hi, I'm also not too sure whether I should do a degree apprenticeship or go uni? What are the things I should consider picking one over the other (I want to do software engineering)
AvatarMolly
4:40
I would think about the company that offers the apprenticeships and whether you would want to work for them after graduating, and look really closely at the course content of any courses (degree apprenticeship and standard UG) so you can see the differences in teaching and assessment style, module content etc. It's a very personal decision so doing as much research as possible will always be a good thing!

What is the entry requirement grade for Medicine?
AvatarMeghan Clamp
4:39
AAA for Medicine :)
Morgan
4:39
what should you put in your personal statement if you wanna do law
AvatarMeghan Clamp
4:40
Personal statements for law courses need to demonstrate a good knowledge of the Law and how it can be applied. You can visit your local magistrates and crown courts to watch how the Law works in action, which is a great idea if you haven’t managed to secure any law-based work experience. You should be able to report some direct experience and understanding of legal practice and the justice system, and this is a great way to do that. Make sure you’re up to date with current affairs involving new legislation or legal cases, as referring to a specific legal incident or topical debate that may have cultivated your interest will impress tutors!

Thank you
Morgan

If we are on access to Leeds, what grades are required for law at university? Meaning in the University of Leeds
AvatarMeghan Clamp
4:41
Access to Leeds gives you a 2 grade reduction, so A*AA would become AAB for Law

If I am not sure between applying for medicine or not yet. So do you recommend  doing the UCAT anyways or I am not sure. Could you give me some advice please?
AvatarMolly
4:44
Being very honest, I think if you are really unsure then it might mean that medicine isn't for you. Have a think about why you are interested in medicine, whether or not you think it will make you happy, and if there are any other courses in the healthcare field that you might enjoy more. It is a really big commitment and very competitive, so if you are not fully committed to the course by the time it comes to application it will be quite obvious to admissions staff
