Any bag will do as long as it fits all the clothes and items you wish to bring. There is more information in the handbook regarding what you need to bring with you
4:37
Please pay attention to the clothing requirements for the Clip N Climb and Leeds Activity Centre visits if you opted for one of those events. This is all in the handbook

You'll also find a list of what to bring that I posted earlier in the chat ^^ :)

Will each person have their own bathroom (including their own shower)?
AvatarMeghan Clamp
4:39
Hello! Unless students have specific medical/access needs that mean they require their own bathroom, students will share a bathroom with 1 other student. The bathrooms are jack and jill style and show as occupied and locked when in use.

You're very welcome! We're really looking forward to welcoming you back to campus!

How likely is it that I get my first or second choice academic sessions?
AvatarMeghan Clamp
4:40
Cara and I have been busy allocating students to their preferred sessions, and although they’ve been allocated on a first come first served basis, we have tried to make sure that everyone gets to attend their first choice. Almost everybody has been given their first or second choice for the activities, and there might be chances during the week to swap certain activities for students who wish to do so.

I know that universities value residentials and James mentioned at getting sorted for uni at Easter that we could formally log this event on our UCAS - how do I do this?
AvatarMeghan Clamp
4:42
We have a very handy document that explains exactly how to do this - if you drop us an email we can share it with you

Can I use this opportunity for completion of my Duke of Edinburgh award?
AvatarCara Wheeldon
4:43
Yes you can, we will be able to provide a report for you

4:43
Can we bring money to go to the shops on campus and get snacks?
AvatarMeghan Clamp
4:43
All meals and refreshments are included without charge but you may wish to bring some money to pay for extra snacks or cans of soft drinks in the evenings and souvenirs. We would advise no more than £25. We also run a snack shack on evening when we are back in the flats :)

I’m so excited! And a little nervous :/
AvatarCara Wheeldon

So glad to hear you are excited. Residentials will be a new experience for most people so you won't be alone in feeling a little nervous! We're sure you'll have an amazing time!

we have an array of toiletries, sanitary products, phone chargers to just name a few, so it's likely we'll be able to help anyone out who needs something!

We have run this for 17 years now and everyone is the same every year. I promise after the first hour of two, the nerves fade and we often have to remind students to call home! They also never want to leave at the end of the week! We are a very supportive team and we encourage the students to be the same with each too - I know students who made friends at this event over the years who are still very good friends now! We had our Year 13 Graduation the other week and its all students were talking about :)

We are off to Cardigan Fields in Leeds (Nandos, Franksters, Five Guys, Pizza Hut, German Donor Kebab, Taco Bell) The choice of where you go is up to you!

is there lunch on wednesday? the timetable doesn't include lunch :(
AvatarMeghan Clamp
5:02
nice spot! of course there is :) as this is our Enterprise Day we allow students to experience a business style "working lunch", where we provide students with vouchers to use in any of the coffee shops on campus! the reason this isn't scheduled into the programme, is that we allow each group to decide when they want to take their break

Am I able to talk about the Leeds summer school in my personal statement
AvatarCara Wheeldon
5:11
Yes, that would be an excellent experience to include in your personal statement

Where is the meetup point in Leeds station
AvatarMeghan Clamp
5:13
You need to be standing on the concourse no later than 10am or the last shuttle will leave without you. We will be at the station from 9am picking people up. Our staff will have a huge "Reach for Excellence" banner so you wont miss us!
