Joc is becoming a weight that is sinking. But if the Giants keep him, and with Haniger going to return, I guess, at some point, trading for another OFer does not seem to be the best choice.

What's up with Slater's arm? Will he need off season surgery or will it heal over time?
Frank Novak
6:44
But could they use Kemp plus somebody else, with the idea that both Schmitt and Wisely can return to AAA
6:43
I agree, they need more than Kemp
SC Jim
6:43
I've alays liked Kemp but Giants probably looking for more slug.
6:42
I've als

Greene’s numbers don’t paint the full picture of how important he is to the Tigers
Riley Greene’s return has elevated the club
Tigers aren’t ready to throw in the towel. Only 5 out after today. And they’ve won 6 of their last 10
6:41
Cardinals also have a lot of outfielders
Strakman

Lorenzen should not cost the Giants a lot. Plus, he can pinch hit, or DH in a pinch.
SC Jim

Dylan Carlson rumored to being shopped. Only one year removed from 115 OPS+ but other three seasons league average. Only 24. Guess they think league average is his norm.

Is Anderson tampering with his legacy by becoming a malcontent? Must want out of the Pale Hose. There was a tough as nails DB for the 49ers named Tim Anderson once but left for Canadian football where he was a beast.
Frank Novak
6:39
He was tremendous today against KC as the Tigers took 3 of 4
Strakman
6:39
Kemp could be okay, but as for position players, right now the Giants look to need someone who can drive in some runs.
Frank Novak
6:39
Lorenzen has not allowed one run in July!
The guy I want- and he’s only getting better- is Lorenzen from the Tigers
6:38
Kemp has been a guy that to me has always looked like a future Giant. Can’t explain why
Strakman
6:38
The Cardinals are open for bidness, and have a starting lefty pitcher that is somewhat attractive, and a few position players too.
Frank Novak
6:38
Tony Kemp is having a poor season. But he’s big time buddies with Yaz
SC Jim
6:37
I agree with Frank. Lynn, Giolito, Graveman, Kelly and Anderson probably all go. Anyone other than Rooker on A's or Royals interesting
Frank Novak
6:37
I’m less certain of the availability of Eloy Jimenez and nearly certain they aren’t dealing Luis Robert
Strakman
6:36
A change of scenery to a playoff contender might get his head off his personal marital problems.
Frank Novak
6:36
He hasn’t homered in a year, which is concerning. But between the LaRussa thing and an inexperienced skipper in Pedro Grifol, there hasn’t been a lot of stability in his locker room either
Strakman
6:35
Giants might explore going for Tim Anderson. He's been down pretty far this year, a marital issue may be troubling his mind. He's a pretty good SS, and he has a reasonable team option for '24.
Frank Novak
6:34
Anderson played well in the WBC as I recall. Maybe he just needs a change in scenery…
SC Jim
6:34
The rumor is you can get Giolito but you have to take Anderson as well. Could be a good thing, could be a bad thing. This mess with his wife and his child with his mistress has messed him up IMO.
Frank Novak
6:34
As for the White Sox, I think they’ll deal Lance Lynn, Lucas Giolito, Kendall Graveman, Joe Kelly maybe, and Tim Anderson
6:33
guys like Mark Canha I could see it
6:32
I can’t see the Mets letting go of the biggest of their assets
Strakman
6:32
Trying to get Luis Roberts will cost a lot in terms of players. I don't think the Pale Hose will trade him. Now the Sox might not ask for a ton to get Giolito and Eloy Jimenez, or one of them.
SC Jim
6:31
No way I touch Scherzer unless they pay at least half of the $43M for next year. It was FP's idea. I have no idea what Mets are thinking.
Strakman
6:28
Mad Max, still has a huge player option for '24, and will the Mets want to fly the White Flag of surrender and trade him?
SC Jim
6:27
I think the best hitter out there on a for sure seller is Roberts with the White Sox but he'll cost two arms and a leg.
Strakman
6:24
IMO, Giants still need to find another starting pitcher, and now with Wade playing hurt and his offensive numbers declining and Estrada being out for several more weeks, and Joc not hitting with gusto, and Davis slumping, the Giants need a veteran hitter too.
SC Jim
6:23
Last night FP was pushing Scherzer for Giants. How much $$$ would Mets need to eat and what would Giants be willing to part with?
Frank Novak

Anybody that wants to chat I’ll keep this open for a bit…
