On this special day of focus on the COVID-19 pandemic around the world, there are many live and online prayer meetings being held. For information on what is happening and how you can take part, log on to sar.my/prayerwave. There is a guide to prayer there, too. Use social media to comment (with #TSAPrayerWave). It would be wonderful if you could share below your prayers, your thoughts or something of what is happening where you are. May God bless you.

Good morning, #Bangladesh. Today, we pray particularly for the divisions of Dhaka and Chittagong who are recording high numbers of new cases of COVID-19 but also for the rest of the country that remains relatively stable. May God bless you as you join with others where you are to pray on this special day within The Salvation Army #TSAPrayerWave.

Good morning, #Myanmar. Our prayers today are with the many students in your country who are unable to attend school because they are closed because of COVID. We pray for grace, peace and strength for their parents who may have taken on the added responsibility of teacher.
1:44
Good morning, Mongolia. COVID-19 still grips your country and we pray for safety and good health for you as you continue to face the challenges this health crisis brings each day. We are reminded in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 to rejoice always, pray without ceasing and give thanks in all circumstances for that is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
So it is we, as a global church family, pray for you.

Good morning #Malaysia. Our prayers today are with the people of Johor and Terengganu where COVID-19 restrictions are to ease tomorrow as they move from phase 3 to 4 of the national recovery plan. We pray for people who can return to work at "full capacity".

Good morning, #Cambodia. We praise God for the news this weekend that your Prime Minister Hun Sen has said that schools, factories and markets etc would re-open next month and all official events would resume after an easing of the pandemic situation. What a day of rejoicing that will be.

Good morning, #Singapore. Welcome to our #TSAPrayerWave. May you experience the joy of the Lord as you take part. We see in the news that COVID continues to have a foothold in Singapore but, hallelujah, we have a God whose fortress is our stronghold and, through Jesus, the victory is won. We kneel with you in prayer against this virus today.

G'day from Downunder. It is an honour and privilege to be with you for the next little while as we join in prayer to our Almighty God, wherever we are, with a focus on the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a glorious morning here in Brisbane, Queensland, and I am reminded that this is the day that the Lord has made and that we can rejoice and be glad in it. My prayer is that you will be uplifted as you pray and rejoice in this day

We would also encourage you to share the hashtag #CovidPrayerWave on your social media - and maybe the link to this prayer blog too (http://sar.my/prayerwave).
The united witness and sharing of God's people can be a powerful witness to our friends and family.

People in Tonga, Samoa, Fiji and New Zealand are now in the middle of Sunday morning. Have you met in worship? Did you share in prayer for COVID-19? Please let us know how God spoke to you.

Father, our hearts are heavy as we consider the enormous toll this pandemic has taken on your people across the globe. Your mercy is new every morning and we claim that mercy today. By your Spirit fill us with hope and resilience. Pour at your wisdom on the minds who guide us through these difficult days. Fill us with compassion for those who think & respond in ways different to our own. Guide us towards patterns of turning towards each other as we live in full view of our frailty. As we lift our prayers to you grant us a fresh assurance that you walk with us. Amen

Remember, you can find out more about our four particular prayer focuses on this webpage (http://sar.my/prayerwave) – lament, thanksgiving, praise and seeking God's heart.
The page also contains links to the live-streamed prayer meetings and resources, including temporary profile pictures for social media or - for those who feel a bit more technically competent - a link to Twibbon to create a frame that means you can leave your normal profile picture in place but just add a frame.

When I stop and consider you Father, Son and Holy Spirit - my soul is renewed and refreshed. You are a faithful God and there is nothing that you don't know about .... you so want that you are in the centre of all we are and all we do .... help us Lord to keep our focus on you and not our circumstances. Help us to continue to be kind to one another ......... we don't know  what to do but our eyes are on you!

Thank you, Debra. In these unprecedented times that really should be our first question - what does God want from us?

As I come to pray this morning, I am particularly seeking God's heart ........ we are just coming out of the world's longest lockdowns here in Melbourne, Australia and many people are really struggling. How do you want us to respond to our current circumstances Lord?
