Hiya! And thanks - as always. Why won’t Washington play Yepez daily over Gallo? Why won’t the Rockies play Hilliard? It seems to me that teams out of the race should see what the younger guys & seldom played guys can do
Brent Hershey

Hey, Beano!
Welp, we are talking about Washington and Colorado, right? (Sorry!) Yepez/Gallo - not sure. I'm not big Yepez guy but he is still just 26. Hilliard - he's had a ton of chances, is 30, and sure seems to be playing more than I anticipated. If I were them I'd rather see what Jones/Beck can do, too.

would you start Montgomery in Colorado this week. 5x5 redraft,
Brent Hershey
12:58
Would not; as addressed earlier. This feels like a lost season, though could well be a nice buy next spring.

I have David Peterson at a cheap price in an NL only keeper league, 12 teams. I know his xERA is not great, and K rate under 20%. Can he be productive again in 2025 as a 5th for NYM?
Brent Hershey
12:59
Yes. Whether he's keeper worthy in an NL only? Depends on the rest of your team options, really. Without knowing, could see it in a 12-tm NL only.

Wow ... a bunch still in the queue ... will give y'all another 10 mins or so and fire through as many as I can.

11 team NL ONLY 5x5 Roto keeper league expanding to 12. $200 draft day salary cap. Can protect 12 from expansion draft. Besides obvious keepers, can protect 4 or 5 of following: Brandon Pfaadt $5, Bobby Miller $6, Gavin Stone $5, Jeremiah Estrada $5, Miguel Amaya $4, Jake Cronenworth $8, Gavin Lux $12.50, Seiya Suzuki $13.50. Who would you keep?
Brent Hershey

Stone, Amaya, Suzuki, Miller

Down to the wire in my Main.  Pick three of these SP for this week: Cole at Oakland, Peterson home to Phillies, Hurter at Baltimore, Crawford home to Twins, and Canning home to CWS!  ALL categories in play with ratios slightly more important.  Thanks.
Brent Hershey

I see you up ahead! Cole, Peterson, Hurter.

As always, thanks for doing this Brent.  NL only, large leads in ERA, saves/holds, wins and small lead in whip... but very close in K category.  CBS predicts JIrvin, RWeathers and IAnderson with 14 Ks each ROS from our waiver wire.  From K perspective, rank them?
Brent Hershey

Can't trust Anderson w/o seeing him yet. Irvin > Weathers for me.

Hi Brent. Should I start Arrighetti at San Diego tonight in my head-to-head 5X5 playoffs? His BHQ rating for this start is -0.4, with everything under 0 except strikeouts (1.0), but the blurb below the chart is more encouraging: "Spencer Arrighetti has taken a step forward in the second half, putting up a 3.88 xERA and 83 K in 67 IP across 12 starts. Five of his last eight starts have resulted in a PQS-DOM. He has been at his best when pitching on five days of rest, going 5-5 with a 3.58 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and 95 K in 78 IP."

Mentioned a bit earlier; fact that his control comes/goes is a bit  has me a bit wary. I'd be looking at other options at least.

NL only, most HRs ROS: HGoodman, WContreras, PWisdom, Canha, Urshela, Hilliard... seems like slim pickings on the waiver wire here.

Slim indeed. Goodman; buncha COL home games yet

Hi Brent,  Thanks for all of your advice throughout the season.  With two more weeks to go, I am two points behind the leader in a 6X6 Mixed Rotisserie League so I need to make some key decisions:                                                             1) I can start six SP - Reid Detmers (just picked up on waivers), Zac Gallen, George Kirby, Max Fried, DavidJohn Herz, Hunter Brown, Robbie Ray and Francis Bowden.  Need to cut one of them.                                                            2) I have Dylan Crews, Jordan Walker and Jasson Dominguez to cover two spots in my outfield.  I do not need to cut anyone so that they might be a keeper for 2025.                            3) For Holds, I have Bryan Abreu, Joe Jimenez, Cade Smith and JoJo Romero for two spots.  Need to cut two of them.                                                  Your help is greatly appreciated.
Brent Hershey

  1. Cut Ray
  2. Walker sits
  3. All good options. Cut Jimenez and Romero?

good morning, do you think Francis and Peterson are blossoming? Do they have what is takes to become front line (#1 or #2) starters? Thank you for considering my question
Brent Hershey
1:12
Don't think either will be frontline starters, but Bowden has a better chance.
protection list

Good morning,
In a standard Fantasy 15 teams, I can only protect 7 players among the following list : Witt, Acuna, J-Ramirez, B-Reynolds, Vientos, Burger, Arenado, S-Suzuki, Edwards, Butler, Langford, Wells, Skubal, R-Ray, Woo, Fried, Francis, Finnegan? Can you rank them in order of preference please? Difficult decisions with a championship fantasy team. Thank you for your guidance,
Brent Hershey

Sorry, don't have time to rank, but my 7 would likely be Witt, Acuna, J-Ram, Skubal, Woo, Langford, Butler

Brent,                                                                                              As the commissioner of our 6X6 Mixed Rotisserie League, I have been asked to consider whether to recommend a change in our categories for next year to improve the overall competition for what will be 14 teams next year.  We now use Wins, Saves, Era, Holds, Whip, Strikeouts for the pitchers (we added holds a few years ago to make it more balanced between starters and relievers).  On the Offense we use HR, RBI, SB, Runs, OBP and Slugging Pct. (we changed from Batting Average and added Slugging to also try to balance things).  Do the experts have any better preferences or suggestions?  Thanks
Brent Hershey
1:16
Think that's a pretty good list if you're going 6x6. Innings pitched v Wins is always an interesting consideration

How would you rank the following pitchers over the next 2 years (2025 and 2026)  (Categories are K-BB, ERA, HIP, W)?::                                                                            Detmers, Cantillo, Festa, Herz
