Ulysses is still ahead of Buddy on the depth chart?  And, nice play Tre!
Brian Batko
8:24
No, but Ulysees is. I'd say it goes Bush > Spillane > Gilbert > Allen > Buddy Johnson > Calvin Bundage
The Dude
8:26
Spillane a weak link
Brian Batko
8:27
Lots of regulars still in for the second drive. Najee Harris, Diontae Johnson, Chase Claypool.
Adam
8:29
Kendrick was 25 yds downfield on that screen—guy has wheels!
Brian Batko
8:29
He definitely does.
8:30
First drop of the night, on third down. Chase Claypool down the seam. And he still got popped. Pressley Harvin with a high punt caught and tackled at the 10.
Adam
8:31
In person does Kendrick look noticeably shorter than the rest of the line?  Hard to tell on tv.  He looks short and compact with huge legs—like a mini Big Snack.
Brian Batko
8:31
That's about right, yeah.
Angie
8:31
Spillane is not a weak link.  Not all ILB’s have the speed to be in coverage.  Bush and Shazier are rarities.  Coverage is not an ILB job.  They’re putting square pegs in round holes.
The Dude
8:31
seeing more pre-snap movement
Brian Batko
8:31
I count 12 offensive snaps so far with pre-snap motion, sometimes multiple, on 6 of those.
Brah
8:33
How is Troy critical of Mason on that drop...give me a break. Make the catch and roll....SMH all-round
Brian Batko
8:34
Tough to tell without a view from the press box, but seems like James Pierre is giving up big chunks so far in the secondary.
Highsmith, Spillane, Sutton still in there for second drive.
8:36
Alex Highsmith looking like the best defensive player on the field, so that's a good sign.
Tom
8:38
Spillane is still getting smoked
Bubby_Blister
8:38
Highsmith is looking good
Brah
8:38
Agreed, Highsmith looks like a young Lamar Woodley. Similar moves and body type
Brian Batko
8:38
Same 56, too.
The Dude
8:38
missed tackle for first down
Brian Batko
8:39
Yeah, that was a bad one by Uly Gilbert. Before the stoppage I saw fifth-round pick Isaiahh Loudermilk about to get snap at DE. No. 92.
Adam
8:41
Is Arthur Maulet playing tonight?  Is he inactive, or will he likely come in when Brooks subs out?
Brian Batko
8:42
Haven't seen him yet. Maybe going in with the backup secondary.
The Dude
8:42
going to have to print out a roster - don't know these guys numbers
Brian Batko
8:42
That's what I'm here for.
8:43
Lot of rotating already on the DL, so with guys like Cam Heyward and Stephon Tuitt inactive, you're seeing early snaps for Loudermilk and Calvin Taylor (67). Two humongous individuals.
Adam
8:43
Is Norwood in at safety or corner?
Brian Batko
8:43
Playing FS as he has all camp.
There's a nice Mike Hilton-esque run-stuff at LOS by Antoine Brooks from the slot.
Angie
8:44
Nice play by Brooks
Bubby_Blister
8:44
They shine on Peyton Manning’s forehead is burning my retinas
Brian Batko
8:44
As someone who battles an oily forehead, I resent that remark.
8:45
Cassius Marsh with the strip-sack from behind? Cowboys get another field goal try but it's blocked. Still 3-0 with 11:26 left in the half.
Adam
8:46
So as of now, our backup safeties are Killebrew at SS and Norwood at FS?
Brian Batko
8:46
That's right.
AkronSteeler
8:46
Highsmith not giving up his job!
Brian Batko
8:46
Welcome from Akron. Go Zips.
