Thanks.  I’m a Buckeye alum….but appreciate the shout-out.

appears early on that Highsmith will be a player
Brian Batko
8:49
Najee Harris still in there. Should be holding your breath on every carry at this point.
8:50
Heck of a catch this time from Claypool to make up for that earlier drop. A 45-yard grab that I can't believe he got under. And he's slow to get up.
The Dude
8:50
push off but not called
Adam
8:51
Wow Chase!
AkronSteeler
8:51
Looks like Wind got knocked out of him
Guest

No push off.  He knocked the guys hands down and the the defender acted like he was pushed.
Brian Batko
8:53
Yeah I'm with you guys, no more Najee, Claypool, Johnson.
Paul
8:54
Is Greene still playing center?
Brian Batko
8:55
Yes, whole OL is still the same. Sam Sloman on for a field goal attempt...
Aaand Sloman shanks a 49-yarder. Chris Boswell can sleep easy tonight.

8:55
need to get Harris out of there!!
Brian Batko
8:55
I'm thinking that's the last of him for the evening.
8:58
Alex Highsmith done for the night, too. Jamir Jones in at ROLB.
8:59
Cam Sutton out of there too, with Justin Layne in at left corner. Rob Spillane, still in. Very on-brand for him.
Adam

Did Cowher just call that all out blitz?
Brian Batko
9:03
Miles Killebrew nearly had an INT there off a tip by James Pierre. Would've been a nice grab, tough play to make midair.
9:05
Bad by J Layne to give up the long gain, good by J Layne to punch the ball out. Recovered by Antoine Brooks. If it's not overturned and ruled incomplete. We shouldn't have challenges in preseason, I know that much.
Angie
9:05
Killebrew not doing too bad tonight.

Thoughts on Mason? Awful fumble per usual with a mistake but other than that, he's been solid
Brian Batko
9:06
The fumble looked bad. That last third-down was worse. I hate to say it, but the best way I can sum up Rudolph is you kind of just feel like something's gonna go wrong every time he drops back.
9:07
And that's not a snap judgment off a first half of a preseason game. That goes back to 2019, his one throw against the Cowboys last year and maybe even the Browns game, when he probably played his best.
9:08
Takeaway stands. Dwayne Haskins in at QB. New OL, too. JC Hassenauer at C. Anthony McFarland in the backfield.

I agree with Mason.  Something is just not right with his game
Brian Batko
9:12
New C-QB-RB combo up the middle can't get anything going, either. Third-down drop by TE Zach Gentry (but you could argue that's just a nice breakup by the defender).

seeing Mason play makes me think that pocket awareness is something that can’t be taught—from everything I’ve read he’s a hard worker who does his homework, but he just doesn’t look natural in the pocket, especially after his first few reads don’t pan out
Brian Batko
9:13
So far this is playing out much like the practices we've seen in camp. Rudolph taking a bit longer to try to go through his progressions, Haskins getting the ball out quickly or taking off with his legs. Selfishly, I'd like to see a lot of Haskins and very little Josh Dobbs the rest of the way.
9:14
What a punt! Pressley Harvin booms it 70-ish yards, the thing dies and pops up just shy of the goal line, and the coverage team downs it.

Goodbye Jordan Berry
Brian Batko
9:15
Nice bloke.
Adam
9:15
That’s the best punt I’ve seen from
Brian Batko
9:15
a human?
Angie
9:16
I think Rudolph’s issues are mental.  Lots of pressure being “heir to the throne” after Ben.
Brian Batko
9:16
Quincy Roche in at ROLB, and the Cowboys go right up the middle for a 25-yard rush.
Adam
9:17
Ahh there’s Buddy!  Not a great way to start...
Brian Batko
9:17
Nice coverage downfield though from the other ILB, Marcus Allen. That's what he should be able to do as a converted safety.
Robert Layne
9:17
Mental or physical, it’s year 3 for Rudolph. Enough
Brian Batko
9:18
And there's Arthur Maulet, indeed running with the backup secondary/linebackers. Gets beat inside on the slant.

I agree with your Mason assessment, however he hasn't got s ton help. With that said, I was at the Ravens game when he was knocked out cold...the guy has ZERO pocket awareness. Let's bd honest, we have one qb on the roster and that is #7
