Neither D or O looked good first series.  Lots of work still needed

Broderick Jones gets cooked by David Bailey for a sack that kills the Steelers' second drive.

Will Howard did a good job to find Roman Wilson over the middle for 14, but the drives stalled after.

OL still struggling to create any room for the run.

Broderick doing Broderick things….
Hillbilly

Come on Broderick! You’re better than that
JeffB

Hillbilly- what if he isn’t?
Pittaz
7:31
No he’s not.

Jones still sucks at RT
Hillbilly
7:32
I’ve seen him play better than that. Maybe he’s not fully recovered

A good punt from Cameron Johnston pins the Jets at their own 5.

After a completion for 6 and a run for 2, it's 3rd and 2.
7:34
Alex Highsmith had pressure on Cade Klubnik on 3rd down, but Klubnik runs away and scrambles for 16 yards to convert.

Jets have converted 3/4 3rd downs so far against the Steelers.
7:37
Pressure from Rayshawn Jenkins on the blitz forces an intentional grounding and creates a 3rd and 20.

That led to a checkdown over the middle and Deshon Elliott punching out the ball, but the Jets recover the fumble and will punt.

Jenkins is a keeper
Hillbilly

Deshawn Elliot is back!

Kaden Wetjen avoids disaster. He fumbled a punt right to the Jets, but the Jets' player didn't establish himself in bounds when he caught it.

Still, terrible ball security from Wetjen. Can't have that from your returner.

Why does 10 stutter step instead of just running?

We won a challenge

Either way cut him
Christopher Carter

Technically it was just the automatic review that always happens with turnovers. But it was the right adjustment.

Still can't have your returner cough up the ball like that.

Let's see Naval Academy return `em

Number 10’s play could open the door for Eli, or somebody else to make the team.

Not just cough it up... get thrown down like rag doll during... cut!

Offense needs to step up and drive.
Hillbilly

I like Jack Sawyer against the run. Disclaimer: of a very optimistic person,

Ok... now take Warren out... sigh
Hillbilly
7:48
The line is looking a little better. Give Warrena crease and he’ll run it hard. Agree get him out of there

Impressive play by Will Howard on the 3rd down. Jets sent the blitz, protection was adjusted, he stepped up, kept his eyes downfield and deliverd a good ball to covert.
7:50
Welp, there's the bad play from Will Howard. Andre Cisco read his eyes the whole way on the red zone target to Roman Wilson.

Had a good third down moment earlier, then a really bad one there.

Ive seen more passes in the middle this preseason than the past 3 seasons

Bad pass by Howard

Is Howard basically playing for a spot on the team?  If he does well, is Mason is traded, if not, Howard is cut??
Christopher Carter
7:50
The way I see it, they want to see if Howard can get close enough to Rudolph's level to justify trading Rudolph.

When you throw telegraphed interceptions like that, it doesn't help his case.

That was a bad pass and worse decision
Hillbilly
7:52
I wasn’t watching Howard on that play Chris. Was he staring at the receiver,
Christopher Carter
7:53
Yep. Telegraphed where he was going too early.

Will say looking at the Howard interception, he tried to sell the lookoff by staring down the right sideline but just turned and fired. Can't just look off your man and not know where the safety is. So it wasn't that he necessarily stared down his man, but he didn't look off the safety to make the throw work.

I like 44 as a potential backup ILB this year… injuries will likely come
Christopher Carter

Carson Bruener was a good special teamer last year. He's making his way.

Sawyer is up and coming starter

Kaleb Johnson sighting with a good 5-yard run on first down. Then a pass to the flat for Riley Nowakowski moves the chains, and another to Ben Skowronek gets 3.
