The throw was so telegraphed he never had a chance. Should've tried to run the guy down. But there's nothing Wilson does there that could've broken it up. Was just a terrible read and throwing.

This was Will Howard's big chance to show he could be in the same class as Mason Rudolph. He has done the opposite.

These are the limitations we often saw in training camp practices.

Its literally Will Howard's 1st start... that said everyone knows that 1-7 against ranked opponents Nittny is bigger, stronger & a 3rd rd pick. Bucknuts wanted to run Howard out of town his entire time in Nutbush until he won the Championship.

My halftime notes: + for good, - for bad.

+ Jack Sawyer showing just how good this team's OLB depth is. A sack, another pressure, and a pass broken up in the backfield with good help against the run.

+ Carson Bruener has been a good special teamer as a rookie, tonight he has a strong sack in a blitz against an RB, and a good PBU in coverage. Solid growth.

+ Run defense in general has been solid. 10 runs for 15 yards by the Jets' RBs. That's a strong showing.

- Will Howard has been very bad. His attempted look-off on the first interception fooled nobody and his second ball was thrown too far behind. He had a solid first game, but this has shown the inconsistency that has the Steelers convinced Mason Rudolph needs to be No. 2.

- Steelers' run game again looks very meh. Offensive line gets little to no push and that has to change or this team will be in trouble.

- Pass defense looked rough. Geno Smith dotted them up and went 7/7 for 65 yards and a TD with a blown coverage to set up the sc
