Thanks for the question re how classes are to be conducted and due to covid-19. SARAH S
The delivery our courses from September onwards will depend on government guidance on social distancing at the time. The approach at Leeds will be flexible, offering a mix of face-to-face and online learning. And we will be constantly reviewing our approach.

Currently, teaching activities with large numbers of students will go ahead using digital technology. Teaching in small-group settings, including seminars, tutorials and practicals, will be delivered face to face on campus wherever it can be done safely, in line with government advice.

We are also working towards supporting the wider student experience at Leeds which we know is a key part of making the most of your time at university.

We are a campus based University as all of the buildings are on the same site but we are only a 10 minute walk from the city centre. Look at our map here: https://www.leeds.ac.uk/campusmap

Hi, is this a campus-based university?

It is still possible to work during University, however it depends on your course as some of the courses have lectures full 5 days whereas other courses might not. You can still work as part time over the weekends.

Some courses do provide bursaries for their students however, this is very course specific. You can find out more information about bursaries and scholarships on University of Leeds website: http://www.leeds.ac.uk/info/130528/funding

At first, it can seem a little strange to move away from home to university. However, do not worry. Everyone is in the same boat! Once you've met your flat and course mates, and found your way around the university, it feels normal.
From my experience, in your first few weeks at university, there can be a temptation to go home. However, after the Christmas break, I found that I was happy to stay at university during term time and then would enjoy being back with my friends and family during the holidays.

Student Finance England are a company that provide financial support to students in Higher Education. You can apply online for a re-payable loan to cover your course fees and to support your living costs- one is called a tuition fee loan (This goes directly to the university and covers your course fees) and one is called a maintenance loan (this goes directly to you and can cover some of your living costs). The amount you get however, is dependent on your household income and also where you choose to study. To find our more and apply please see the following website: https://www.gov.uk/apply-online-for-student-finance
For more detailed info on how to apply nd how repayments work, please watch our short video on Student Fianance: https://www.leeds.ac.uk/info/130580/supporting_students/810/online_pre...

It depends on which course you are studying as some courses have more contact hours than others. More information relating to course hours can be found on the course pages which can be found through our Course Search pages:  https://courses.leeds.ac.uk/

Thank you for your question. Dental students tend to have a lot of contact hours- eg lectures, labs and clinics so dental students often choose accommodation that are close to University for example, Cityside, Central Village, Charles Morris Hall. But you can choose any accommodation as many accommodations are in walking distance of the University. Find out more about our accommodation here: https://accommodation.leeds.ac.uk/residences/
