I remember seeing a Fangraphs article during preseason about how similar the Rays and Pirates strategies were. The argument was that they basically both decided, being small market teams, that they would aim for slightly above average consistently year after year and see if they could find their way into the playoffs occasionally. I like the Archer deal on both sides.
