who’s got the best Rotation and who’s got the best Lineup come season opener
Anthony Franco
3:26
Milwaukee for rotation. Dodgers have the best lineup

With all this arbitration stuff going on, what exactly to arbiters use to calculate player value? It all seems very confusing to me
Anthony Franco
3:28
They basically look at a wide swath of stats -- mostly traditional stuff like homers and RBI, but some newer metrics as well -- and compare that to previous player with the same amount off service time

Are the Athletics gonna pull a magic rabbit out of a hat again this year as always, or did this do em in.
Anthony Franco
3:29
This year, nah. They'll just be bad
I think 2023 is a more plausible rabbit out of the hat year

Do you feel the ghost runner is here to stay.  I love the idea of a DH in both leagues. But the ghost runner cheapens the game, leads to an illegitimate outcome, and decreases my enjoyment of a close game.  I feel a game should be won by hitting, and base running - not this.  From comments you receive, do you feel many fans favor this rule, and are they more the casual fan.  Thanks.

I do think it's going to stick around. They used the lockout as a justification for it this year, and that makes basically no sense. Even if you're concerned about the shorter ramp-up, do the ghost runner for a couple weeks like you are with the expanded roster
In reality, I just think both MLB and the players like not having marathon games

I dislike the rule, at least before the 12th inning. Every time we post something about it returning, we get a ton of vitriol. I think most people either don't care or really hate it. It has far fewer passionate defenders than passionate detractors, as far as I can tell

With Starting Pitchers mostly going less than six innings the onus is on the bullpens. Which teams do you consider to have the best bullpens in each league?
Anthony Franco
3:32
Rays, Braves, Brewers, White Sox all jump to mind off the cuff
3:33
Bullpens are all over the place, though, more so than any other area of a roster. The Mariners almost made the playoffs last year largely because their bullpen was unbelievable. It looked like a bottom ten group on paper
3:34
But then Drew Steckenrider, Paul Sewald and Casey Sadler became elite basically out of nowhere and they never lost a one-run game

Hi Anthony!  Regarding your answer to my earlier question about the Rays trading for Jose Ramirez: why would the Rays not immediately do that deal?  It only removes Josh Lowe and/or Vidal Brujan from the current roster, but neither of them have a path to MLB at-bats this year anyway.  Adding Ramirez would make the Rays offense absolutely dominant and they clearly trying to win right now...
Anthony Franco
3:35
I think they should/would. Like I said, I don't know that Cleveland is really willing to move Ramírez at all, but if they were, I think that's the kind of offer they'd be looking for

If the Padres are really so hamstrung by the Hosmer contract, why haven't they bitten the bullet and attached a blue chip prospect to him to trade him? They're offense is trash and Tatis is out for months, but they've done essentially nothing to improve.

Salary dumping C.J. Abrams is a rough look, and I don't think Hassell or Campusano are valuable enough (talented as they are) to convince another team to take on Hosmer. Would either of those guys get 4/60 if they were free agents right now? I doubt it
3:38
Alright we're over 90 minutes now and I do have to circle back and fill in that Cardinals post from a half hour ago
Apologies on anything I couldn't get to today. As always, if you wanna throw anything at me on Twitter @affranco10, I'm happy to answer there
