Gunnar has 7 versus Tyler Alexander, Wentz, Manning, Verlander, Urquidy, Valdez, and Garcia.
It would take 2 of your moves, but you could use Hernandez for the first three days then Rodolfo the rest of the way.

Is Drew Waters worth keeping for next year? Standard category auction league, 260 cap, 10 keepers, Waters is at 5 units.
Brad Johnson
12:49
Now that I'm restocked on water, let's talk about Waters.
... ... ...
12:50
While it does seem like he's taken a small step forward with the Brewers, he still profiles as a backup. It might depend on your opportunity cost though - who would you keep instead?
Also, how deep is the league, 12 team? 15? 10?
12:51
Waters seems to have enough upside to at least consider spending $5 in a 15-teamer. I think you're better off with nobody in a 12-er
12:52
Getting low on questions, but I'll hang on the line until around 2:30et in case some folks are showing up then.

In a standard 5x5 AL roto league with 11 teams and a $260 salary cap, does it make any sense to freeze as keepers for next year these underperforming rookies or sophomores at $5 salaries: Kelenic, Kirilloff, G. Moreno, Torkelson. Likewise, does it make sense to freeze at $10 salaries pitchers Kopech, Bello, or J. Suarez? Thanks
Brad Johnson
12:54
I'll say this about Kelenic, I'm glad I have no shares because I'm not sure how to evaluate him. He might just be having an especially bad version of Kyle Tucker's debuts.
12:56
So here's the thing about that collection of players. If you kept them all, somebody from that group is probably a $15-$20 player. But, individually, they all project below their costs for me. I'd pay especially close attention to Tork down the stretch.
I've noticed Tigers fans are saying he looks better this time around, but 1. that's a low bar to clear and 2. they might be fooling themselves.
12:57
He's batting .239/.340/.391 since his recall which is... fine.
I don't get to scout too many guys, but I've seen a good 20-30 PA of Tork in game action. Can't say I've ever been impressed. Bryson Stott and Brett Baty looked a lot better in the AFL last season.
12:59
On the pitching side, I'd probably keep Kopech, and I'd think about Bello. I like him a lot, but I don't necessarily think he'll be a great fantasy asset in the upcoming seasons. There's upside and risk.
I'd let Suarez go. Should be able to get him back for $3.
1:00
There's an argument to be made to keep all four of the $5 hitters on the decent chance at least one of them turns out to be a good keeper for (I assume) $10 the following season.
1:01
You also know more about what the draft usually looks like than I do. If you can't spend $5 efficiently on decent veterans, then rolling the dice might be smarter. Then try to get some flexibility utility types. Jace Peterson types (if he swaps leagues)

AL only keeper league question. Have a bunch of potential closers for next year. Your thoughts on them? J. Lopez, J. Hernandez, R. Montero, A. Munoz, and the Oakland crew of Jackson, Jimenez, and Puk. Thanks!
Brad Johnson
1:02
Puk and Hernandez are the ones I think are likeliest to close, but even they don't have great odds to save more than 15 or so.
There's internal alternatives, the usual injury risk, and normal performance risk too.
1:03
Munoz is the most talented of the bunch, but I don't perceive any rush to get him into more save situations. Assuming the cost is cheap, his ratios are good enough to hold onto even without saves.
1:04
I'd definitely let Jackson and Jimenez go. They're ordinary relievers.
Lopez is a tough one because we only have ~3.5 good months of him on record. He's a non-tender candidate.
1:05
The stuff sure seems like it should continue to work in a leverage role, but maybe he needs to head back to Baltimore.
1:07
Montero is having a surprisingly good season. It reads as both luck neutral and walking a tight rope. Put another way, he doesn't have any margin for error, but he could sustain this as long as he stays on top of his game.
1:08
He has just enough strikeouts. Just enough command. Just enough contact management.
The one fluky bit is a 0.29 HR/9 which just isn't a sustainable rate for anybody.
He's a free agent too so we'll see if he's even in the AL

Vidal Brujan is he a 4A guy or can he contribute regularly at the Major League level next year?
Brad Johnson
1:09
Brujan's struggles in the Majors have really caught me by surprise. I didn't think he'd have such a hard time.
1:10
That said, I believe he's a Major League utility man - the kind who plays most every day. My read, and it could be wrong, is that he's selling out for contact when he needs to just trust himself and try to find some barrels.
1:11
I still see him as a 10 HR, 30 SB guy. The triple slash might be more .250/.340/.375 than the high-average profile we originally anticipated.

Is he worth keeping at 5 in a standard 5X5 12 team league? The steals are what I am looking at.
Brad Johnson
1:12
I don't think you need to spend $5 on him. $1 should be enough end-of-draft
1:14
That's all I have for today! As I said earlier, I'll hang on the line for another 15 minutes. I'll pop in and out. Meanwhile...

A little shameless self-promotion. Silver Bullet here tracked down my fantasy Patreon. I was able to help with the design of a points league for them. I'll note, I recommend selecting a monthly tier rather than yearly. I have a major announcement prepared for after the season.
