Let's talk about The Martian.  Obviously, he's not rocketing through the minors like the hype suggested he would.  Too early to declare him a bust, but maybe these kids shouldn't be compared to all time greats before they play a game in the States.

He posts some incredible exit velos, but they are mostly ground balls, which is an issue. He needs to lift the ball more. He also needs to stop striking out so much. There's still plenty of time to right the ship, but he's got his work cut out for him.

In September, maybe. He's not exactly hitting a ton in Triple-A right now, and he'd basically take Marwin's spot and hardly ever play.

I'm sure every fan complains about their team's bullpen use, but it seems like every (or every other) game Boone doesn't do the right thing. Not even a hindsight thing. Just no sense of what's happening on the field - so stuck with his nose in the book. For a people person he seems terrible at reading the room. Eh?

Boone definitely is not good at managing a game. Leaving starters in too long, playing poor matchups, etc. This isn't to give Boone credit, but not too many guys are actually consistently good at that either. I still think Boone is a liability in that regard.
It's a good thing this pitching staff is virtually dummy proof.

TBH, even though I'm watching all the games it's been hard for me to focus on the broadcasts with the newborn here. From what I've heard, I've liked Maybin but don't think Beltran has been all that great.

It sure seems like they are letting Miggy play in the minors to build trade value. I like Locastro's speed but I think Miggy's bat is better. Marvin G is more versatile infield and outfield. At this point it looks like the front office and Boone don't have a roll for him. What could the Yanks get for him at the deadline if he keeps hitting?

Let's say Cashman steps down after the season.  Would you try to poach someone from the Rays FO or look somewhere else to fill the position?  Obviously, this is a hypothetical, but it can't be dismissed.

I don't want to Rays-ify the Yankees, but I imagine that's the direction this will go whenever Cashman's time ends here. Frankly, the whole league is going in that direction.
In any event, I'm sure they'd try to fill it internally with one of Cashman's acolytes
