The Ghost of Bobby Thigpen

re. Nimmo...Career OBP above .380, can play a competent CF, no other CFs, decent pop, coming off of a 5 win year, not yet 30....

Why do people think that isn't worth $100M?

Pollock is certainly a lock to opt in for 2023 but I think they can still add a left-handed LF (assuming Colas is eventually in RF) to platoon with Pollock. You can justify paying a platoon player like Pollock that kind of money considering how injury prone Robert has been, along with Eloy. Plenty of at bats to go around potentially.

Pollock's contract is definitely underwater at 13 mil.  It's not like they'd sign him for anything close to that as a free agent.  He'd get like 3-5 mil tops.

Do we have what it takes to acquire him from the Pirates?

I think it could possibly be done and should be explored.  Probably would require Colas?  Saying which prospects belong in a trade is really had

Good song but you may want to hit at Double-A first

What do you make of Lance Lynn going into next year?  Super slow start coming off the injury, but then really got it going to end the year.  Velo was down to start, increased, but never quite got back to where it was before.  More swing and miss and less walks than ever before.  What do you make of all of this going into 2023?  Can we still be a TOR arm for a couple more years?

Naturally I'd expect continued decline or injuries at age 36.  But he can be a 3.75 ERA guy for sure

Any chance the White Sox take on Josh Donaldson?

This feels White Soxy to me, they do have a long history of acquiring former stars past their prime.

Will you continue to run team specific chats throughout the winter? Maybe another series of them after the winter meetings and again in January/February before spring training starts?

These are kind of associated with our Offseason Outlooks.  I think another round in March when the offseason is wrapping up makes sense.  It does take a while to do 30 of these.
I'm gonna run - thank you so much for chatting!
