Do teams take into account divisional weaknesses? Like, did NYY focus more on RH hitters (Stanton, Frazier, Torres) given Boston's rotation. Or, are BAL/TB leaning more towards long term rebuilding given Stanton? Or is that all marginal when you're just trying to get the best players/give your team the best shot at a championship down the road

Kopech is particular intriguing. He could break out and be amazing or be the worst pitcher in baseball and neither would shock me.

Is the list of teams on a player's no trade list really about wanting to avoid the team/city? Or is it more about trying to identify likely landing spots so you can exert leverage over the trade process, should it come up

It's complex; there are a lot of reasons.

Some don't want to go some places. Some want leverage. Occasionally some that can approve to limited teams will pick teams they don't think will trade for them.
