Thanks. Another question: In the statement section, in the guidance PDF it says give 'some information about yourself' and 'write about why you feel you meet the Access to Leeds criteria'. What does it mean exactly? Is it asked for which bullet points I meet?
Becca

Thank you for the information.

Hey, I’m not sure how Access to leeds works if you have applied to Medicine with a Gateway Year ? Do I still need to send A2L form or not?
AvatarJo

Hi @Stressed, flexibility on GCSE results is at the discretion of each admissions team however many of them do offer extra consideration if you are part of Access to Leeds.  The best advice I can offer is to give the programme admissions team a call and they can offer more guidance.

If you apply for more than one course will A2L ACL
*continued* will I receive a reduced offer got both or just one

@Confused immy hello! Unfortunately you cannot get an A2L offer for the Gateway to Medicine programme (the entry requirements are already lower as it's a foundation year). If you've applied to any other courses at Leeds I'd recommend submitting an A2L application

Hello @ Bamlak - this guidance applies to standard applicants (not RfE). They have a different application form, but we already know that RFE students meet the criteria, so you don't need to worry about this section.

@(Now de)STRESSED YAY! Well done :)

Hi @Hassaan, an Access to Leeds offer will apply for any eligible course that you have applied for so if you apply for two courses then Access to Leeds will be flagged for both.
Belal

If I have already got an offer from the University with grade conditions, will I still be able to submit A2L and get a reduced offer?

Hi @ Belal Well done on getting an offer! If you complete and submit your Access to Leeds form now, your offer will be updated and an Access to Leeds offer will be added in addition to the standard one
Bamlak
4:17
@Paula alright, so I will ignore the statement section, Thanks!
Confused immy
4:17
Thank you, just double checking if I haven’t applied to any other course at Leeds but only Medicine with a gateway year I do not need to send an A2L application.
AvatarPaula
4:18
@Bamlak - have you got the specific RfE application form? it doesn't have that section about eligibility - just a section which talks about why you want to apply to Leeds
zainab
4:18
is there a word limit for the statement section of the application?
AvatarJo
4:18
Hi @Confused immy, that's correct, if you have only applied for Gateway to Medicine you won't need to complete an Access to Leeds form
AH
4:19
How many a2l students do they take on per course approx as a percentage
Jennifer
4:19
I was wondering does the supporting statement for the A2L have to be the same length as a personal statement
AvatarShauni
4:19
@zainab there isn't a word limit, but there's no need to write more than the space in the box provided!!
Bahaja
4:19
I was wondering, if its still possible to still have access to leeds (2 grades lower for Rfe students) in the next few years if you decide to not go university this year or next.
AvatarJo
4:20
Hi @Jennifer, the supporting statement can be as long or as short as you wish, it's really just an opportunity to make your statement more specific to the University of Leeds.
AvatarShauni
4:21
@Bahaja hello! Yes absolutely, the team would be happy to support you if you're taking a gap year or two. You'll just need to email the RfE inbox in the September when you're writing your application to make sure you have the write A2L form for your year!

If you domt end up getting an offer this year and you re apply next year will we no longer be able to apply through the reach for excellence application process
Sara
4:22
Anyone know The tuition fees for our year of entry?
AvatarShauni
4:22
@Sara, keep checking the webpages of the courses you're interested in. They'll be announced in January. Tuition fees for this year were £9,250 per year
AvatarPaula
4:22
Hello @ AH - that it is difficult to say, as some courses have a higher percentage of A2L applicants than other. Off the top of my head, Dentistry as an example took about 15%. Some courses may take a higher %, others much less. There is no quota though, or number of places set aside for A2L. Overall, about 10% of the total intake of new students to Leeds come through A2L.
AvatarJo
4:22
Hi @Hassaan, yes you can reapply next year as all eligible criteria will still stand.
AH
4:22
If I’m deferring my entry, can I request to do my A2L essay in my gap year to reduce the stress towards exam time?
Anonymous
4:23
As we’re a part of reach for excellence are we guaranteed a place on access to Leeds .
Bamlak
4:23
@Paula oh i see, so should i use my personal statement in that section?
AvatarShauni
4:23
@AH if you're taking a gap year, but applying this year, you NEED to submit your A2L now with your UCAS form
@AH it's not that long and hopefully won't be too stressful! The deadlines are also slightly later than the UCAS ones to try and help

Hi @Anonymous, yes if you are part of RFE you are automatically eligible for Access to Leeds.  You just have to complete the form that RFE have emailed to you so we can log you as part of A2L.
