Due to some unfortunate circumstances, I must re-sit my GCSE English language in order for me to be able to apply for Dentistry at any university. Would I be able to apply for Access2Leeds in 2 years time, when I have re-sat my GCSE and am able to apply for uni or is it just for Year 13’s?

@Snoop_Dogg hello! You will still be able to apply to Access to Leeds when you are ready to apply! Access to Leeds opens in September so just get in touch with the team when you are completing your UCAS and we'll send you the RfE version of the form - it's a lot shorter and it means we'll support your A2L application :)

I heard from a person that our year had a really low birthrate so some universities are finding it really hard to fill the capacity.

@FR don't believe everything you hear down the grapevine! There are loads of different factors that affect application rates, so it's not just about how many 18 year olds there are. Courses are still hugely oversubscribed every year, so it's a bit of a dangerous game to play if people are relying on there being less competition than previous years.

I’m taking a gap year and then applying would I still be eligible for a scholarship for next year?

@Guest yes! Just keep your eyes peeled for Scholarships opening - at Leeds applications for scholarships normally open in February and close in May. We can also stills support you in making an Access to Leeds application - just email us when you begin your UCAS and we can send you the form for RfE students

But would I be able to apply to uni with just a predicted GCSE English language grade. It was my understanding that I must get the grade then apply to uni?

@Snoop_Dogg I'd recommend contacting the admissions team for the course you're applying to to check this! It can vary, and they may have be more flexible if particular circumstances have meant you have had to resit

Plus there is a huge influx of international students so we shouldn’t really rely on that tbh
