Craig Edwards

The difference is that the benefit isn't as great as shifting.I like putting the pitcher eighth so you can put your best hitters 1-2 and not worry you are wasting an "RBI" hitter in the opening slot.
5:11
If we get the DH soon, it might not matter anyway

Denard Span - MLB RBI leader
Craig Edwards
5:11
The Giants Brewers game is still ongoing apparently
Sean
5:12
Park is up. Want to see what he can do.
Craig Edwards
5:12
Tillman got him looking.
Toasty
5:13
reminder that the brewers once started suppan on opening day
P.J.
5:13
Gotta be Cano
Craig Edwards
5:14
Cano is an interesting pick for comeback player-not sure people will think he fell far enough, though

Giants just went back-to-back-to-back. Span, Panik, Posey.
DB
5:14
Reds can't really bat Billy anywhere but 9th at this point
Craig Edwards
5:14
he can be so exciting. You root for guys like that to succeed just so you can see them do the things they do really well.
Jtt
5:15
Justin verlander/zack wheeler for comeback players
Craig Edwards
5:15
Verlander is interesting. I don't see Wheeler coming back quite soon enough. Adam Wainwright, if he pitches better than he did yesterday could be.
Big Joe Montferrant
5:16
Is Bryce Harper really going to start getting booed in opposing Ballparks? He doesnt seem like the villan type, but then again, he's "different"
Craig Edwards
5:16
I don't think most people are going to boo Harper. Maybe in some cities on some occasions like Opening Day, playoffs, etc. but I don't know that people will be that passionate against him.
Kevin
5:17
That called third strike on Park was awful. I for one welcome our robotic umpire overlords.
Craig Edwards
5:17
soon...well probably not really, but sometime in the distant future

The Giants - Brewers game has been over since the 5th inning
Tex
5:18
Could the Giants have the best group of position players in the majors? 2nd last year and that was with Pence, Panik, Pagan injuries and no Span.
Craig Edwards
5:19
Could be, but injuries are bound to happen to that group. Depends on how Crawford, Duffy, and Panik do. Need them to be really good to bring up the overall group assuming a similar standard from Posey and Belt and Pence.

5:19
But teams DONT bat there best hitters 1 & 2, so any advantage the would gain by batting the hitter 8th is lost
Craig Edwards
5:20
it isn't necessarily lost because most teams bat "good" hitters at 1-2, but it can be muted a bit.
Big Joe Montferrant

Longest HR of the season will be hit by ________________ and Longest non Stanton HR will be hit by __________________.
Craig Edwards
5:21
Stanton, and homer pick-Randal Grichuk
Horn Please ThankYou
5:21
On the downside Gray is out for his start. On the upside, it means we get the next chapter of the Rich Hill experiment sooner than expected

Wheeler coming back at all would be impressive.
Craig Edwards
5:22
It usually takes some time to get everything back from that kind of layoff.
Minty
5:22
I'm still surprised that they didn't keep Peraza to see if he is the slightly slower slightly higher OBP Hamilton.
Craig Edwards
5:22
no real reason to at this point unless he is starting everday
Wily Mo Money Mo Problems
5:22
Daniel Murphy keeps up the postseason homer pace
LJS
5:22
I hope Verlander is back. I miss him :(
Craig Edwards
5:23
the end of last season was encouraging. We'll have to see if he can keep it up.
David
5:23
Rendon will have the biggest comeback
CamdenWarehouse
5:23
Rickard singles in his first AB
Craig Edwards
5:24
and now the game is in delay
Zorak
5:24
IF he is healthy-ish and productive-ish (which is a big if after how he looked yesterday) David Wright is a lock for comeback player
Craig Edwards
5:24
that is definitely a big if
LJS
5:24
Everyone talks Royals Devil Magic, but the Giants are the ones with the Devil Magic imho
