I did ham and cheese, but someone did it better after seeing it and fried the bread in cheetos to give it a cheeto crunchy outside. I think he did like bbq chicken inside with onions.

re:bassinet; just get a pack and play. A bassinet is worthless after 6-9 months and a pack and play will be used for years. I think they're like $40 too. only negative is you have to bend over a little lower, but some an be adjusted. and have bassinet type add-ons.

We had a little co-sleeper bassinet, they sit on your bed, cost < $50, and prevent any concern about rolling over on the baby. Worked pretty well for those first few months, if you're not against having the baby in bed with you (there are many strong opinions on this)

We had a bassinet that fit into our crazy expensive stroller that we used for a few weeks, but we co-slept for most of the time so we just transitioned with the bassinet.
I would say a stroller that can change into multiple things should be your big get.

yeah, ours could face both ways, started with a bassinet, then got bigger seats twice, then we added an attachable roller board for the second kid to surf.
