For your ZIPS IP projection for pitchers,  is there a generic catastrophic injury risk (TJS,  shoulder)  that you just amortize out over a bunch of years?

I'm sorry, I refuse to believe Asdrubal Cabrera is on the Nationals again. It's not 2014, last I checked

Yes. Predicting a specific guy to get TJ in a decade is a game which you will lose!

The Orange Juice series happened in 2019

Does Bregman or Rendon have the better HOF probability?
AvatarDan Szymborski

I used to make Hasdrubal Barca military history jokes involving Asdrubal, but nobody got them so I gave up.

I'm a full fledge AL guy....and I find it crazy that Asdrúbal, Kendrick and Annibal Sanchez are key pieces to this nationals team.

Bregman. Has gotten more done at an earlier age. 20.8 bWAR through age 25 including  6.9 and 8.4 WAR seasons

Altuve and Correa are so smooth on those double plays

Hasdrubal/Asdrubal is a pure Punic name that was latinized.

That throw by Correa in Game 6 made my jaw drop.

Bregman I think is a good indication of why getting drafted out of college doesn't hurt all that much; he spent minimal time the minors and hit the majors by 22.

I’ve been looking for a replay of the Correa Altuve double play from game six. That was amazing!
AvatarJay Jaffe

Yes, well, when you're the #2 overall pick you generally are on the fast track. That said, Rendon was the #6 pick and debuted just before turning 23 but also missed a lot of time due to injuries in his first 3 seasons.

94.5 mph throw by Correa there

HOF high school vs. College.  No player is making their decision based on the unlikely chance they could become a HOFer...it's about maximizing dollars.
AvatarJay Jaffe
10:36
nobody's suggesting the player should make a decision based on that. You won't get many players to admit they think about the Hall of Fame at all, let alone at 18 or 21
