I know Skenes may become one of the best of all time but, darn if I don't believe that Merrill was the ROY last year and he starts the year with a 2 out 2 run single off of Sale, as tough a lefty as there is.

Re; Devers - how can he have higher WAR as a DH when there is a 15 run difference on defense?  What am I missing?  Has his D been that bad?

Devers' defense is subpar but not DH-only subpar. the roster fits together better with Bregman at 3B and Campbell at 2B, though. Wrote about the situation last week https://blogs.fangraphs.com/red-sox-third-base-drama-appears-to-be-res...
