You're welcome, Xingjian.
Nikhil
10:43
Is there any need to include undergraduate certificate or only transcript enough?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:44
Nikhil, if the transcript doesn't state that you earned the degree, then yes, we do actually need the undergraduate certificate as well.
Arnav
10:45
I have sent the GRE and TOEFL scores, is there any way to know if it has been linked to my submitted early application?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:46
Arnav, yes, you can log into your application account and check the checklist. It will show you if the official scores have been received or not. Please note that this usually takes 48-72 hours after you've submitted your application and the scores, at minimum.
Nikhil
10:52
the application form does not mention about whether scholarship is require or assistance-ship or funding is required...just confirm so that I know I have not missed any thing
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:53
Nikhil, that is correct. We do not ask for any financial information.
Arnav
10:53
Thanks Will for the previous answer. I just submitted my application today and I see that the checklist is not "Ready for review". All of my recommendations and scores have already been sent a week back. Will I still be considered for the early deadline?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:53
Arnav, if you just submitted it, the system can take some time to link everything together - it is not instantaneous. If we have all of the necessary materials, it will be fine.
Arnav
10:54
Thank you so much Will!
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:55
You're welcome, Arnav.
YIFAN
11:08
Hi Mr Fenton.  Should all of my recommenders submit their recommendation letter before 23:59PM?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
11:09
Yifan, yes, it needs to be submitted by 23:59PM EST.
That is, if you're applying to a program with an early decision deadline.
YIFAN
11:12
If 2 of my recommenders make it and one doesn't.  Will I still be considered in the first round?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
11:12
As long as one of the two is the academic recommender, yes.
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
11:12
Ok folks, we're gonna take about a 10 minute break, and then we'll be right back.
11:30
Ok, we're back, folks. Sorry, took a little bit longer than 10 minutes. Did you miss me? :)
YIFAN
11:30
Thank you!!
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
11:31
You're welcome, Yifan!

I'm planning to apply for online masters program in computer science. There are two programs offeredl; one is MSE and MCIT. Are both programs offered online
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
11:32
Pawanjit, the CIS program is a Master of Science in Engineering in Computer and Information Science. The MCIT Program is a Master of Computer and Information Technology. That program is offered both on-campus and online. The CIS MSE program is not offered online.
Rajdeep
11:35
Can I change the email of my recommender if my recommender has started and saved LOR?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
11:35
Rajdeep, no, you are not able to change if if the recommender has already accessed the link you sent them and they've begun the process.
11:36
If you're recommender is having a problem, you should have them contact the help desk, help@applyweb.com. This is for the 3rd party service that manages the application.
Pawanjit
11:37
I have Bachelor degree in computer science and eighteen years experience in Software Development. Can I still apply for MCIT program
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
11:37
Pawanjit, yes. Although you may be over qualified.
Pawanjit
11:40
Will that have any impact on admission decision. If I'm over qualified for MCIT then what other course you recommend for me. I'm only looking for online program.
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
11:42
Pawanjit, I recommend you read this part of the MCIT Online FAQ, "Insights from the Program Directors," https://onlinelearning.seas.upenn.edu/mcit-faqs/#from-program-director.... It will help you figure this out.
Unfortunately, if you are over-qualified, you would need to look elsewhere for an online program, as we don't offer any others at this time.
Pawanjit
11:44
Thanks for the information Will.
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
11:46
You're welcome. Best of luck to you.
Harry
11:51
Good morning Will. I have a question on MCIT application: During the application process, I did not see a separate part-time (on campus) option for MCIT. From my understanding there are part-time students in MCIT and I wonder do I need to mention it anywhere on the application?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
11:51
Harry, no, you don't need to. Part-time/Full-time is determined when you sign up for courses. If you are signed up for less than 3, you are considered part-time.
Harry
11:58
Perfect thank you Will and have a good day.
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
11:59
You're welcome, Harry. Best of luck to you.
mehatab
12:03
Hi will, is there a possibility of updating the GRE scores once the the application is submitted?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
12:04
Mehatab, yes, with a caveat. If your application is already being reviewed when we receive the updated scores, there is no guarantee that the new scores will be considered during the review. Also, for the scores to have any chance of being considered, they must be from an exam taken before the application deadline.
mehatab
12:05
Fair enough. thanks
