When will the vaccine be available to homecare nurses?
Einstein Healthcare Network
There is no VIS sheet yet but the FDA has released a Fact Sheet that is available to review. You will receive this Fact Sheet with your invitation to be vaccinated
12:20
Good question, there is no VIS sheet at this time. There is an EUA a fact sheet however
Bernardina Molina

Is there a VIS sheet on the Covid-19 vaccine?
Einstein Healthcare Network

Both vaccines are mRNA vaccines that work by the same mechanism, and we believe that they provide equal protection.

What are the similarities/differences in the Pfizer and Moderna (or other pending) vaccines? Is there reason to prefer one over the other?

Sign up on HR-info and you will be prioritized based on professional and personal risk.

When can I get my Vaccine ?
Einstein Healthcare Network
12:19
No anyone who is quarantine should not come in for vaccination. This is to protect everyone around that person since even though they are asymptomatic they are still in their infectious period and could potentially transmit the virus. They should wait until after their quarantine period to come and get the vaccine
Mary McLaughlin

If an employee tests + for COVID and they are asymptomatic but are still in their quarantine window, can they come in and get the vaccine or should they wait until their quarantine is over? Is it OK to get the vaccine so close to testing +?
Einstein Healthcare Network
There is no information on taking the vaccine if you're on tamoxifen. I suggest you speak to your oncologist to make a shared decision
12:19
The card you receive when vaccinated will have the lot number of the vaccine. The vaccine contains lipids, potassium chloride, potassium phosphate, sodium chloride, sodium phosphate, and sucrose. Bell’s Palsey has been reported in the Pfizer clinical trials in a few patients, but it is not clear that these cases were caused by the vaccine. There are no gender, race or genetic specific side effects. If you have a complication from the vaccine you can file a workmen's compensation claim with HR as you would for any other work-related injury.

Hi how are you, My name is Maddy I want to know are we going to get a tracing number per vial as we get with the flu vaccine to reference back to. Can we have literature of the ingredients in this vaccine? What will be the lifetime of this vaccine ? What are the side effects of this vaccines according to other studies per race, genetic, and gender. Also there are rumors  in the media of allergies and bell's Palsy, is that true? My BMI is fluffy and will it cause issues, basically people with underlying health conditions. Oh!, and if we get sick from this vaccine will this fall under workers comp and are we insured. Thank you kindly for your time.

By tomorrow, every emergency room in ICU staff member will be sent an invitation to schedule a vaccine

Have all doctors and nurses who wanted a vaccine from the ER and ICU being offered one?
Einstein Healthcare Network
12:18
Yes if you develop a fever after vaccination you should not come to work until you are fever free. There is guidance that the CDC released that is available on Einstein Connect about what to do if you develop any symptoms after vaccination

Since fever is a potential side effect of the vaccine, should we develop a fever post-administration should we NOT report to work?

The vaccine is reported to reduce infection by 95% compared to those not vaccinated, If you do not get COVID-19 infection, you cannot transmit it to others.

The video by Dr Sivak encourages people to take the vaccine in order to protect ourselves, our family, and our patients.  Please describe what we can expect from the vaccine, including level of evidence, as it relates to preventing us from infecting our loved ones and patients.  This is a critical distinction (as opposed to preventing only the vaccine recipient from getting sick from the virus) and will help me to decide about accepting the vaccine.  This information will also help to guide my decisions about what I do or do not need to continue to do after I have been vaccinated, to keep my loved ones safe .  Thank you!

Sure. We prioritize staff members based on professional risk and personal risk. If you work in the ICU you're the highest professional risk and if your over age 65 and have a comorbid condition that puts you at risk for Covid complications that raises you in the priority list
Eileen Marlow
12:17
The prioritization of those employees receiving invitations for the vaccine doesn't seem to make sense. Can you explain the process?
Einstein Healthcare Network
12:17
No there is no risk of transmitting the virus from the vaccine. The vaccine is not a live virus vaccine and so it is impossible to shed virus from the vaccine
Vivian

My husband is a frontline healthcare professional and will be receiving his vaccine this week.  Will my son and I be infected when he receives the Covid vaccine when he gets home. Since we have not been vaccinated.

This group would be right after anesthesiologists and staff that work in the ICU an ER.

What umbrella does the non- anesthesia OR fall under for order of covid vaccinations? ty

The studies on the full duration of protection are still underway. The studies to date have shown good protection starting about 7-10days after the first dose and then up to 95% effectiveness after the 2nd dose. The full duration of protection is still not clear and studies are ongoing to determine if booster doses will be needed. For now everyone will need to continue to wear masks at work and in public until enough people get vaccinated and we get more information from CDC and public health

How long will you be protected after you receive your second dose. Also, will you still have to wear your mask in public.

Outpatient staff will get vaccination as soon hospital staff are all vaccinated

There has been no research on safety during breastfeeding, but the Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine has recommended that breastfeeding women be offered the vaccine after a shared decision-making discussion with their obstetrician. Therefore, if a breastfeeding woman decides to have the vaccine, we will require a note from her obstetrician.
JM
12:14
Hi, has any research been conducted on breastfeeding mothers?  Do the antibodies cross into breastmilk?  Is it safe for a breastfeeding mother to receive the vaccine?  How long will the vaccine provide protection?
Einstein Healthcare Network
12:14
No the vaccine does not contain live virus so you will not shed any live virus. There is no risk of developing COVID from the vaccine. Some people do develop fevers, chills, headache after vaccination - these are symptoms of your body developing an appropriate immune response to the vaccine. Unfortunately at this time the vaccine is only EUA authorized for 16 and older
Ev Mangoni
12:13
Do you shed the virus after receiving the vaccine?  Also, my grandson is 15 and is not eligible, but he has hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.  Are there any exceptions to the age limit?
Einstein Healthcare Network
12:13
We have two days before and two days after the 21st days after your first vaccination for your second dose
RIOMARIA
12:13
Does the booster vaccination need to be exactly 21 days after initial administration or would 20, or 22 days be safe / acceptable?
